Alright.

But Garry Ablett, Matthew Richardson, Jason Heatley and Sticks Kernahan among others played up the ground a bit, and all kicked significantly more goals than Franklin in their first 50 games.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

He's certainly no Mark Scott ! :)

Some people saying he's not a super star, do they have rocks in there head? 7 goals, a couple from outside 50, steps up when the pressure is on, a matchwinner. He is a dead set gun, Id love to have someone like him in the team, who can win a match of there own boot.

And hack pup is out again, bowled without troubling the scorers.

Kicked 2 - 11 last week, so not sure that he's there yet as far as pressure is concerned, but no doubt he's well on the way to being a star.

one game every four weeks doesn't make him a superstar. Will get there but too erratic for now, has a good game, it goes to his head and disappears for several weeks, thats buddy franklin right now.

As far as pressure is concerned? Can't get much more pressure than a goal from a tough angle, outside 50 at the 28 minute mark of the last quarter to put your side back in front in an elimination final?

Yes good comment. G looked interested in all games did he. Open both eyes or have you had one removed.

I hope people saying how good Franklin is are not the ones saying hopeless he was before we played them. Lets get this right. He is great already and will be a superstar in the future.
itsa not the on field attitude all forwards would get annoyed if the ball wasnt delivered in. i think its just his philosophies that he can win a game of his own boot hes a joke

Gotta kick the easy ones as well !

2-11 suggests that there was some sort of pressure on him ?

Doing consistantly earns him the superstar tag, meanwhile he's just a mere star.

Let's see if he can back it up.

Wont get a kick next week.

And that sums up where he is at.

Inconsistant.

At best he is brilliant. At his worst he is worst than Gehrig on an off day.

I dont rate him at all because of it.

Still a pup though, red, so plenty of time to straighten it out.

Oh When the Saints wrote:Less goals than Lloyd at the same point in his career.

About 50 less goals than Lockett after the same number of games.

70 less goals than Ablett after the same number of games.

A little bit of perspective ....

Won't ever be as good as Lockett, but if he keeps his head right, he will be remembered as a star like Ablett IMO.

He's an arrogant little prick and I can't stand him, but he can play football.

But he ain't a superstar ... he's got three All-Australian selections, 3 B&F's, an AFLPA MVP and a top 5 finish in the Brownlow before he's even as good as Riewoldt.
How many people kick goals like they did back in pluggers day. No point in comparing back then. Go by the goals kicked now. He has the most. He is also 20. He will be a superstar. Half the people who follow the Saints think Sam Gilbert will be what would they say about Franklin if he played with the Saints.

What about Heatley? Had more goals to this point in his career, and arguably played in a more talented forward line?

The point is that there are plently of blokes who looked like they were going to dominate after 50 games and ended up as just good players ... nothing special.

even plugger was inconsistent at 20 and i rate him as the benchmark.

superstars kick them when it counts and franklin's effort yesterday ... seven goals in his first final, including the match-winner ... mark him as the game's next superstar

If he gets it consistantly then he will be a superstar but he's not there yet.

10 years ago. Players used to kick 100 back then. Now 70 is the new 100. Do you rwally think he will just be a good player. By the way Heaters was about 24 back then Franklin is 20.

Buddy's test will come next year, 15 other clubs will study his year, look for weaknesses and give him a little more respect.

If he is just as dominant as this year, then hats off he has arrived.

Roo has been doing it for four years now, part of being a superstar or champion is longevity. Buddy has potential, loads of it, but he has to back it up.

I remember Adrian McAdam, anyone else remember this one season wonder? How many at the time wondered what he would become.

Franklin has been getting the best defender each week this season. How much more respect is needed?

Massie played on both Riewoldt and Franklin for their respective game...one kicked 7 goals.

What Buddy did yesterday ie WIN GAMES you will rarely see Riewoldt do.

Im comparing Frankins kick to any of Riewoldts throughout his entire career.

Riewoldt struggles 15m directly in front.

Give Franklin 3 more years and you will see.
