We are up to page 5 based purely on SPECULATION. Has there been anything official that Goose wants to leave or the club wants to unload him? !!

You don't trade your CHB unless he wants to go and you risk getting nothing for him.

Goose IMO is a required player, if we lose him we'll struggle to win a flag in the next couple of years.

Matty Maguire a bed rock player to success

Post: # 457378Post Megamaguire »

Great to see Maguire up and about. Not surprised plenty are chasin him. From day one Matty was awesome and will get over his recent injury to reclaim his potency in the red, black and white. The arrival of Sam Fischer on the defensive scene has been a huge bonus for the Saints and we should be able to confidently expect Rossi to keep adding to a defencive unit that squeezes the life out of oppositions in future. Sam Gilbert has been another great arrival and i can't see Matty leaving till he sees the real thing @ ST.K.

GO SAINTS!

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

Since when? I see a fair few Subiaco games thanks to Fox always carrying them, and Hunter always plays on opposing CHFs - Riewoldt, Brown, Pavlich.
I too have seen him play this role a lot of times......except Dan has ...stats.....on how many times he goes to the toilet Vs a KPP.

Must be so.

Maguire's expendable? Why would you trade a player when their value is low?

We've got 3 key defenders. Goose is the youngest of them.

And while I get that it's easier to tell whose good at what they do WITH the ball than without it, but most defense is played without the ball in your hands. Otherwise they'd call it offense.

Whether he's top 10 right now is irrelevant. He's one of the core players now that should still be here in 5 years. You can trade that if the returns good, but based on his form coming back from a broken leg, would you pay full value for Nathan Brown?

I don't have time to say this nicely, so I'll just say it with all the rough edges. Those clubs can go to hell, Goose is ours

this forum is an absolute joke at times.....

everytime a saints players hasn't signed
..some scummie journo lets it "slip" that x club is after him.....then all hell breaks loose on here and he is being offered in a trade for every tom dick or harry...ffs....

apart from judd...how come all the unsigned players from 15 other clubs aren't attracting the same media attention....

Heard on SEN this morning that his manager is Paul Connors, as is Baker's.

The same Paul Connors that is Judd's manager.

For what it's worth I heard Sheldon on SEN saying that Goose was overseas at the moment and expected his contract to be settled when he returned.

I'm pretty sure he said both Goosa and Bakes were overseas.

if u are as good a player as goose and out of contract in october that could indicate he is gone.

goose to blues for pick 3? pick 3 plus 8 to weagles for judd.
done.

FAIR DINKUM. Trade Goose. No way. 22 y.o. His best footy in front of him. Can be the backbone of our defense for 8 - 10 years. Trade him for an early pick who may or may not turn out ok. Madness. He's untouchable IMO unless it's a seriously good offer like Judd or Cox or Chad Cornes for example. Otherwise, he must stay a saint.

agree. that's one trade i would consider. but don't throw a potential champion like goose away for a GOP hack like Jolly
