He would fit right into our 1st 22.
If Ross Lyon has any brains, he'll be straight in for him. The other four mentioned are rated too highly by the Swans - they'd want heaps for Malceski, Kennelly and Schneider, with a beachfront property on Bronte needed for O'Keefe.

Buchanon is definitely the one to chase. He's not a player in 'huge' need of a change of scenery, but it would take his game to the next level. I've got no doubt he'd be terrific for us.

Tenacious, quick, hard, proven in finals and loves a goal. We need him so very badly.

Buchanan turns 25 on Wednesday.

I would give up our first round pick for him.

Yeah I probably would too, it would be perfect if we could have most of our players form 24-28 in '09.
With 3 or 4 older and 3 or 4 younger.

Apparently Chad Fletcher might be on the table, I doubt we'd have anything of interest to entertain the Eagles but he'd be a decent pick up providing he had the right attitude.

That would be a pretty pointless trade by the Lions considering they need another goal kicker and a decent full back.

Would absoloutley love Buchanon, like you said he's the type of player we need a goal kicking flanker/midfielder.

Unless you are there in the meetings its fair to say that we are all guessing at present. He might be on the table, might not be.

But I am guessing that this is the type of player we will trade for.

Morton has asked to be traded. Schneider would also be a great pickup.

Just to clarify guys, Schneider is very unlikely to be offered around by the Swans at trade week. His profile in Sydney is really quite big and like the other three I mentioned, is pretty much known to be off limits (unless, as with anyone, a freak deal comes forward).

He's not like a 'hidden gem'.

If any of them go, it will be AB.

No he was not having you on..

BUT what he heard was a listener ringing up saying what he, the listener, would trade...after SEN asked listeners to ring in with trades that they would like to do.......as opposed to having any actual knowledge of.

By Sam Lienert
MELBOURNE, Oct 8 AAP - Any deal to trade Chris Judd from West Coast to Carlton will involve a straight swap between the two AFL clubs, with no third parties involved, the Blues said today.

Carlton chief executive Greg Swann said the two clubs had agreed to try and keep things as simple as possible when they met on today's opening day of the trade period.

"One of the things we were very clear on today was we just felt that was the easiest way to go," Swann said.

"When you involve third parties it makes it difficult, and they agreed with that, so that's what we're working through."

Swann said he was optimistic that a trade deal would be reached and that several proposals were discussed today.

"We've just put up a few different options and people will go away and we'll think about some of those various options, we're not going to go into it here," he told reporters.

Swann refused to say what draft picks the Blues put on the table today and whether any Carlton players were also involved.

Complicating matters was that West Coast chief executive Trevor Nisbett and coach John Worsfold were not at the negotiating table today, as they were attending a memorial service in Perth for former Eagles player Chris Mainwaring, who died last week.

"There's a few things to go back and forward, but we had good discussions," Swann said.

"Hopefully (a deal is) done before Friday, as in earlier in the week rather than later.

"I think both parties are mindful that if we can come to a resolution we might as well do it as early as we can and then the rest of the trades can happen."

In other negotiations, Adelaide running defender Martin Mattner seems set to be traded to Sydney.

The Crows are also trying to thrash out deals to send ruckmen Ben Hudson to the Western Bulldogs and John Meesen to Melbourne.

==========

Am I the only one who thinks we should be monitoring that situation very closely? Seriously good player.

Matt Thompson on SEN:

All clubs met with each other and had formal discussions with each other.

Chris Judd deal ... believes that deal will be done in the next 24 hours. Swan optimistic that it will be resolved, and is almost certain now to be a direct trade between Carlton and the Eagles.

Mark Blake to the Tigers ... Richmond seriously interested. Geelong no comment yet, nor from Blake himself.

Melbourne have had a few enquiries about Brad Green from clubs approaching them. Would want something very special for him.

Crows want Dogs 2nd round pick for Hudson, but Dogs not agreeing yet.

Martin Mattner is a gun. Had a terrific year in '06, and then I know a lot of Crows fans were unhappy with the way he was played this year.

Would be worth a first rounder, surely. Anything less and he is a steal IMO.
