where to now for Rix? (And Brooks!)

Post: # 474020Post plumtire »

With Steven King coming and Michael Gardner ready to play in 08 Looks like Rix/Brooks will be "bye bye" shame really as they're both honest grafters.
Unfortunately Rix is about twenty five years too late to be a ruck star.
Good luck to the both of them

He has a contract, as far as I know.

I must admit, the writing has been on the wall for Brooks that if we got a ruckman in this trade period, he'd be gone.

Do we have the biggest number of ruckmen on our list?

Rix
Brooks
Gardiner
King
Van Rheenen
Kosi

Biggest turnover too...

Clarke
Ackland

in the last two years.

Brooks is now out and I would think that Watts may be in a little trouble as well.

so long brooks !!!! you had your chance but didnt make it but hey you still did better then most ppl by getting to play an afl game good luck in what ever you do from now on

Rix enjoy your Casey time next year cause i could be your last year on the list honest toiler but really just lacked the pizzazz to be a constant player

agreed

at brooks has the tools to make the grade, rix is VFL standard, in fact he struggled at VFL level this year.

Personally I believe they will wait a few weeks to see how gards pulls up.

Brooks has had at least had 1 good game

He wasn't that bad = Rix's best game

was talking to Gardy's old man yesterday and he said that gardy's is feeling pretty good, running laps of Albert Park, enjoying melbourne and seemed really positive.

But that's just his old man!

if we were to pick up gardiner from geelong and delist Watts who now might get an opportunity with gehrig's retirement then you know for sure that the wheels have well and truly fallen off

FAIR DINKUM

and Brooks struggling against a wet lettuce would get my nod before gardiner, who can't kick over a jam tim

I'll just assume that this was just another numbnut observation from you

Well we will wait and see. You never give us anything and I try to give things that I have heard. I may be wrong but I doubt Brooks will be at the club next season.

Can some of you experts please explain something to me?

IF Brooks is so good, and Rix is nothing more than a hack VFL level ruckman.

How come two coaches have let Rix keep Brooks out of a job for a season and a half?
