Will McEvoy be our prefered pick?
Are we still after a long term ruck ????????????????
Ben McEvoy-199cm, 90kg-Murray Bushrangers. (Ruck, fwd) He has been on the radar for a while and has had good form this year. He was one of Country’s best performers during the champs playing in the ruck and up forward. He looks to have good endurance and moves around the ground well but he is not blessed with a lot of pace. His ruckwork is pretty good and he can read the play. His kicking skills are very good and he can take a good contested mark. He is the type of ruckman that can ruck for a good portion of the match. Where he goes in the draft will be interesting.
Pick 10 to 30 .

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

i'm just flowering relieved we kept our first round pick...not happy about losing the second...probably could have got schneider for our third rounder and given a miss on the dumpster.....

...happy about king....charlie is just the bonus tipped into the deal....to make sure we took king.....

I agree.....vacuous space wrote:I hope we don't go down that road actually. The concern with McEvoy is that he's a bit of a tweener, not mobile enough to be a key forward, not a dominating physical presence in the ruck. One of the gun mids is likely to drop to our pick, especially if a couple of the teams go KPP.
we also already have Kosi...and Brooks who are of similar heights...and kosi is way better.
I would go for another with say our pick 42..or 58

I think there's a good chance there'll be a good one available at 42 or 58. There's supposed to be decent ruck talent in this draft, and a couple of the teams that need a young ruckman got one at the trade table. Carlton will get Kreuzer. Collingwood got Wood. Adelaide picked up Moran. Melbourne got Meesen. Doesn't mean they won't take a ruckman, but it means they're less likely to IMO.saintsRrising wrote:I would go for another with say our pick 42..or 58
Kruezer will be our preffered pick, obviously wont be available but it is my beleif that most clubs basically rate the list of potentials from one to 100 and take the highest player available left on their list. Could not imagine we would use pick 9 on a kid we did not rate as best available but as best player for a position.
Maybe this year?

what about ebert? what pick do you guys reckon he wil get taken at. Has got a solid build, and can play both in the midfiled and as a small to medium forward. what are your suggestions at getting him even though he said he would love to play at port, he did mentioned that if he got picked up by another club they it didnt really matter that much.

My 3 cents - we are screaming out for a full back - Rance for me
Most of the gun mids will probably be gone by pick 9 - Cotchin, Masten, Palmer.
Schneider can run through the midfield in bursts and Armitage and Geary (if promoted) will hopefully step up
We miss Penny badly and with Hudghton continually injured and 1 year older our backline needs shoring up
Rance sounds like the best back in the draft .... do it I says!!!
