Ryan Ferguson??

Post: # 476987Post gosaints »

Apparently has been delisted by Melbourne. Is he someone we could look at as a back up KPB??

195cm and 93kg, can take a mark and has shown courage, but is a little light on for skills and pace.

I thought he showed he could play in the few times I saw him but must admit I was very surprised to see that he is already 26.

Would be handy depth in the event that Max gets hurt.

Would take up a position that would otherwise be filled by an 18 year old.

A lot depends on how our national draft goes.

Turns 27 next year.

He's not the skinny gangly kid anymore. Not interested.

Rather we took a punt on MJ, Bradley or even Bode, Perrie, Torney or Pffeifer than this geeza.

We're not short on running defenders who can play tall, either.

We could go for Keppler in PSD
I think R clarke needs to lift his game this year and shake injuries.

He is alot older than I thought.

Very surprised that he has been delisted.

If he was under 25 I would say yes but hes not so its a no from me.

Josh Thurgood has been delisted by Hawthorn.

Was treated horribly in 2005, being played on gorilla forwards when he weighed as much as a paper clip.

I thought he showed signs of a good fullback in the making, if he could only put on some muscle.

He didnt and obviously cannot so I doubt we would be interested at all.

Never suggested we would be

Just thought it didnt really deserve a thread of its own, and Ferguson was a KP defender prospect as Thurgood was so id just chuck it in here :)

I think if given a chance he could become a reliable depth player, however I would not want that face of his anywhere near the club, it could scare off potential sponsors...

Was only drafted in 2002, so i had no idea he was 26. He is the type of player we need as a back up for a key defensive position, a position we really lack any depth. But at that age and very minimal, if any, improvement to come, i would rather pick up a kid in the draft who has the possibility of becoming a 1st team player. We keep suggesting players who have been delisted as possible pick-ups, but we dont need rejects. Our core group of players is young enough to develop a quality group of young players from the next few drafts.

Nah. Would rather take a younger guy than Ferguson. Not much development left at 26.
