Not questioning your reply but wondering what the gaming licenses has got to do with securing a major sponsor.
Unless TATTS or KENO are jumping on board I do not understand why this would hold things up if we have or had them ready to go once the board was given the thumbs up.

The process for gaming licenses can be quite lengthy - personal experience. But I would expect it to be done by the time the AGM comes about. Also I know that there are some very promising conversations taking place with potential sponsors. Some of these were already underway others have come from the new board members.
So we are a club without a current board in place and a sponsor then
Only joking thanks for the info will look forward to an anouncement soon then.
Bloody pokies they F*** everything up
Some sponsors may have been found but there is usually a fair bit of to-and-froing before the deal is sealed. i.e. what they get for their bucks (sometimes takes a while to cost and organise) and the 'most important part' finalising the 'chicken-and-the-beef' for the boys that write the cheques; game day tickets, b&f, lunches, corp box deals and the like.
Yeah, you are right about the pokies - pity we didn't have our money coming from something different but thats the way of it.
