Pettifer is overexuberant with his goal celebrations, no doubt, but he's probably just an excitable bloke who watches too much English football.

Someone of his ability should never think too highly of himself.

That is just wrong. You may not like his personality, but Chad Cornes is a brilliant footballer. Probably in the best five, easily in the best ten players in the competition for mine.

ur a harsh man can play CHF CHB middle and plays each roll with precision easily top 20 afl player.

has to be buddy for me..

at new years a couple of years ago, just after buddy got drafted (hadn't even done a full pre season), a couple of guys were having a stoush and he came over, stood in the middle and said:

"Everyone stop it! stop it now! Don't you know who i am?!"

from that day (in my mind) he rightfully inherited the FIGJAM crown

i agree with the thought that Chad Cornes is over-rated

can pick up 25 possessions playing free man across the backline, put him on an opponent, and hes nothing too special

play him at CHB on Riewoldt, and Cornes would cop a thorough flogging

Add to that his tanty at their B&F this year

Got totally loaded, decided he didnt like his meal so tossed the full plate onto the floor in front of punters who'd paid good money to sit on players tables..

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Exactly.

Hes a classier Joel Bowden.

Will get the ball and deliver it well, but put a player on him... or put him on a decent player and hel get pumped. No accountability whatsoever.

Would have agreed until this year. The various roles he took and excelled at has removed my doubts about placing him among the true elite rather than simply the very good. Much as the myth of Cornes the CHB (being named at CHB and actually playing on the opposition CHF - i.e. playing CHB - are two very different things) irritates me, there's no doubt in my mind the guy is a franchise player because of the ball he wins and what he does with it.

His work in '07 in the midfield and up forward was nothing short of gamebreaking. The fact that putting a defensive forward on someone in the back half eats up their cheap possessions doesn't diminish the amount of contested ball Cornes won in other parts of the ground.

If Chad Cornes is over-rated, then so is Riewoldt.

Cornes is a superstar of the game.

End of story.
