Leadership Group 2008

Post: # 490764Post saintbrat »

2007 Leadership Group
Nick Riewoldt, Justin Koschitzke, Fraser Gehrig, Lenny Hayes, Aaron Hamill, Robert Harvey, Nick Dal Santo & Luke Ball

so two places available- Gehrig and Hamill

from information supplied to this site today it would seem the two places have been filled

I think the replacements are most worthy.

Sam Fisher and Matt Maguire were the two replacements going by fonz's post in the player sponsorship thread.

Great choices.

Now that is a dominating group of players.

...Much more potential than what we have had in recent years. All are home grown Sainters who have had a fair few years under their belt together!!!

it is a great indication of the calibre of young men who are being drafted by our club. producing young leaders is vital, and the crop we have named for 08 seem to be very promising.

Great group, definitely capable of great things.
If we can get those guys on the field for 20+ games each we will be there in September, the question now is who is going to step up to take us even further...

Goose and Chippa are the ideal inclusions to the leadership group. It is definitely chock full of great talent and great leaders/role models.

the thing is we also have a couple just below those guys who would also be close to being concidered as future captains in BJ , Grammy , Joey

and a former captain of geelong in King

so we will have a flood of leaders in the team

It does seem like we have a lot of stronger leaders that could more than do the job as captain at most clubs, Roo, Kosi, Hayes, Ball, Harvey, Joey, Gram, BJ, S.Fisher, King etc.

I just hope it doesn't get to the stage where there are too many chiefs and not enough indians.

I wouldn't put him back in, thats not to say he shouldn't continue being a leader, just gives others an opportunity. 8 is enough.

yeh i don't think fraser needs to be put back into the leadership group, he still has those little bursts that can cost us a bit, it's good to just have him back at the club.
