Beetham was a headcase but had a huge amount of ability. Disagree that his skills were poor - they were good enough.

Watson was a poor manager of players ... with a bit of time and effort, someone could have sorted Cadyn out and he would have gone on to have a terrific AFL career IMO.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Comes from good football stock, too, with his father Scott playing for Hawthorn and winning a William Leitch medal (TFL B&F). Scott is currently the General Manager of AFL Tasmania.

Have not seen Matthew play but from all reports he was very promising when playing for Clarence and the Devils.

Heard his dad interviewed recently...Matthew is definately concentrating on cricket now.

Yes, there was an interview in either today's or yesterday's Herald Sun where Matthew said he had given footy away over winter and missed it greatly.

Wade played a few games with the Tassie Devils in the VFL.

I reckon his first-class average of 47.50 after 3 matches is enough to keep him playing cricket though, especially at the age of 19.
