Great to have the big fella back but i must say that after retiring then having a change of heart and causing the club to use a draft pick on a player they already had i will be expecting nothing less than 100% effort every week from the G-Train

May not work out....but can't hurt....he is well respected at Moorabbin...pick 57 for a 1 year player who might kick 70.....or a kid who may be a champion or maybe a dud......worth the gamble IMO

Maybe but there were a few clubs passing selections after picking the big fella back up so I dont really think that it mattered too much Andy

a couple of recycled players were already being picked in round 3 so perhaps Stkilda blinked first, but well worth the gamble

excellent post. Exactly right.

On the surface the recruiting of recycled players has been extremely good.

#26 Schneider and Dempster
#58 Gehrig
#90 King and C.Gardiner.

Really five AFL senior capable players all ready to go.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of them, at least three King, Schneider, and Gehrig could well be picked in the 22 for game one.

Dempster and C.Gardiner are AFL capable and may contribute.

Really a very polished performance by the Saints - on paper at least.

Yep..rapt to have the big fella back!!!

Theres still gotta be room for some sentiment in footy. Apart from the obvios on-field benefits, this will create a great positive vibe around the Club. The playing group would take a bullet for him so they will be stoked, wont do our membership drive any harm at all.......and I reckon theres one lil girl in our Cheer Squad crying tears of joy as we speak :-)

Would that be the one he gave his guernsey to after his last game? Great to have him back.
