M. Gardiner destroyed Rix, had 25 possies around the ground and drifted forward and kicked 4 or 5. King filled in ably when Gardy needed a spell

X totally dominated the midfield, all his silky skills on show, dobbed a couple from outside 50> even Bakes' tagging couldnt stop him

Schneider, what a gun pickup,. Blistering pace all night

Goose played a quarter and took 7 contested marks.

Raph took everything before him off half-back in a Gram-esque performance. Close to BOG

5000 Memberships sold on the night

Apart form that, a pretty mundane evening with well-below average skills :P

Oh...all players ran out wearing a suit of amour. Something about proving their metal ;-)

There was a closed training session today with the squad being divided up into 3 teams of 12 playing against each other. For what it's worth apparently, Michael Gardiner dominated the hit outs and around the ground against King as well as Rix dominating against King.

I'd believe the suit of amour comment before I'd believe that!

So who's going along to the match?

So filled with excitement (as opposed to the more usual excrement) that I'm going to cross the Yarra (thrice), abandon the family and be there. Can't wait. :D

They will not grow old, as those from more northern States grow old.
For them it will always be three-quarter-time, with the scores level
and the wind advantage in the final term.
