Goal Kicking Midfielders !!

Post: # 535718Post Eastern »

Goal Kicking Midfielders add much needed flexibility to any side, including ours. We have some pretty handy midfielders but goal kicking midfielders can really hurt the opposition. I have decided to put my head on the chopping block here and rate our midfielders (against our others) on their ability to hurt the opposition by kicking goals;

1. MONTAGNA runs the lines and is normally an accurate kick

2. DAL SANTO His ability to put himself in a goal kicking position

3. X CLARKE The courage to get into position, even at personal cost

4. BIRSS Surprised me with his accuracy

5. GRAM Marked him down a bit because he is a Half Back

6. HARVEY Is sometimes too team orientated

7. FIORA His accuracy is letting him down lately

8. HAYES As above

9. BALL Needs to regain confidence in his body

Please feel free to add to this and/or shoot me down in flames !!

Very impressed with Montagna.

I know its a long shot, but wonder what his odds for the Brownlow are? He was mighty impressive in the NAB Cup and is looking like exploding on to the scene this year.

I know that mate, i think all Saint fans recognize him as a star and one of our integral players, but opposition fans aren't aware of how good he is. If ya get what i mean.

This will be his best season and i believe he will make all australian this year.

Goddard and Gram into the midfield and it might turn around....Armitage too...all can kick goals from outside 50m, which is what we needed last night. If Geary can start to take over Gram's spot, and Maguire frees Sam Fisher to the rebounding half back position, we can get Goddard and Gram on opposing wings....then you've got some mids who can kick goals.
