Post: # 542341Post Seaford_Saint »

Has anyone heard any interviews from Lyon / Riewoldt post-match?

I'm keen to hear what was said.....

I'd be more interested in what he said at 1/4 time!

"Fundamentally football is about getting your hands on the ball".

"You can't do anything if you don't have the ball".

Two quotes from RL. Said we got smashed in the midfield and smashed in the clearances and hence didn't get any supply to our forwards.

An area we are normally good in even when we lose, so it's pretty bad when we get smashed in winning the footy like we did last night.

IMO Armo will come in next week and probably CJ, because they can both win the footy.

"You can't do anything if you don't have the ball".
As old "Captain Blood" Jack Dyer used to say -

"No good being where the ball aint!!"

Nice Ross...

How about some accountability for marking/guarding your player instead of marking space.

Its very frustrating the way he has our side playing, I simply do not like it, we were lucky to win against Sydney, we should be 1-2, you can forget winning the next two weeks with the style of football we play.

Not sure if the captain would say a thing and if he does, does any one listen.

Actually, and might explain our sluggish form, but listening to RL speak is akin to having valium.

His voice and mannerisms are just plasin boring.

Oh When the Saints wrote:Said we got smashed in the midfield and smashed in the clearances and hence didn't get any supply to our forwards.
He also mentioned the groundballs, which the Doggies won easily after quarter time. The thing that baffles me is if you recognise those two things as the major problems, why not throw Dal, Ball and Hayes in the centre? They've been our three best clearance guys and our three best groundball guys for more than four years. Ball is the master of the hard ball, Dal is the master of the loose ball and Hayes is in between the two. One problem is none of them are particularly quick, but like RL said in the press conference, you always look faster if you're winning the ball.

At least Lenny and Ball are tough. And Lenny always leads by example.

You'll never hear me utter a bad word about Lenny & Bally but they both got pasted by Daniel Cross.

We got destroyed in the tough stuff as well as the quick outside stuff.
