who for weeks have been saying we need fast players

I suggest you look at todays game.

fast essendon players.. nowhere to be seen

hard bodies over theball yes, plenty for collingwood

swan, shaw, lockyer and even medhurst

for the last time, fast is overrated , by round 15 those essendon small players will be looking for somewhere to lie down

btw knights was towelled up completely in the coaches box

courtney johns , what who and why is he still playing afl after all these years

With the exception of the Sydney game, we have been pretty fast. We were very quick against the Dogs and Cats early, and pretty good last week.

Fast is overrated, but definatly should not be ruled out as a significant factor.

If I had a choice (GenieInABottle) to either increase our speed by a few yards or decrease same, I would opt for more pace.

I assume some on here would not give a rats

How good would Goddard be with Judds pace or is it insignificant?

Nevertheless hard body/footy smarts still reqired

They are a long way short of it now The Bumbers and the Gold Coast and West Sydney teams draft priorities are going to make it EXTREMELY hard for deficient teams to recruit much needed players.........

If teams don't find the players they want at the end of this year then they can enjoy the AFL wilderness for a few years.......

On top of all of that the AFL will probably bend over for Brendan Gale and allow some form of Free Agency.....

Saints looking like a bottom 4 team in 2024.

You do realise that Jetta, Dempsey and Davey were all out injured......????? which goes a long way to explain why they were no where to be seen.

However a good team needs many things.....and some players with a bit of toe helps,,,,but is not the only ingredient you need.

i dont find we need speed, cuz theyre very skilled with handballs.
i swear the saints could handball their way down forward under pressure the same time/speed as doin the Aussie Jones run down forward.

a bit of exageration but we have under pressure handball skill.

i say i grant their wish with....accurate kicking!!

essendon lacked pressure and skills yesterday, when they turned it over collingwood almost everytime got a goal...you need to ball to be fast, i dont recon we are slow and we rely on our pressure alot to win games

we have pedestrian pace.

We are not slow, we are just one paced thats all.
