doesn't matter how much effort they put in, will never go anywhere with this gameplan
gameplan does not normally include poor foot /hand skilss

poor decision by players

blame the players ability to execute.
but it does include continually allowing Port to play a lose man across defense all day while double teaming Roo, who is our only target in the forward line, due to mistakes at the selection table....

but no, its ALL the players......
does it?

does the instructions also include "now Dal Id like you to go out tonight and be as soft as you can and once you get tagged just do nothing?"
notice key words there, TAGGED by an ALL AUSTRALIAN tagger....

whats Ball, Joey and X's excuse...?

Interesting Mark Bickley still reckons Port has beaten a quality side. Quality sides win important games. Its what resides between the ears that matters and having some ability to execute.

FAILED TODAY ON BOTH ACCOUNTS.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Clearly not...but the game plan should involve other players working to assist Dal Santo in breaking the tag.

Either the instruction to the players is to have accountability to your own INDIVIDUAL opponent.

The game plan needs to include SELFLESS ACTS.

I'm certainly not advocating GT back! However, he did have the players working for EACH OTHER and the TEAM.

Those qualities are sadly lacking under this regime.

I think they need a motivational speaker before they play. I wonder what ross is like as a motivational speaker.

How much would Vossy charge to give the boys a pre game rev up every week.

How we only lost by 21 points I'll never know.

We have too many soft or unskilled players unfortunately to make an impact. A lot of dumb footballers in general.

26 - 22 to Port.

But it is not relevant as the umps did not play a role in this game.

Bloody disappointing. Maguire is gone, stick him in the ressies for the rest of the year. Absolute liability at the moment. We would be a bottom four side without Hayes. Rix got killed in the ruck - if we get King/Gardiner back then maybe we can rectify this. Will be handy if we can get Schneider back down at the feet of Roo/Kosi. But really, that was one of the most pathetic efforts I have seen. Port wanted to give us the game at the end but we didn't want it either.

seriously chook, if its not the coach's job to get the best out of his players then who's is it?

malthouse has got a team of kids playing above themselves week in week out. The saints continue to play well below themselves week in week out.

Well Port thoroughly deserved this win. They had less passengers and Mark Bickley has also credited them as having a balanced team.

For the Saints, I have heard Hayes, Joey, Roo, Chips, Gram and Ball mentioned many times.

Shockers tonight seem to be Dal, Goddard, Fisher (L), Bakes and Armitage.

They may be several I have missed as there are others who weren't mentioned kindly through out the call.

We have to get the team balance right and learn to do the team things. I have never critised Ross as I dont believe he is at fault, but the team is not doing those "selfless acts" that are required to give players access to the corridor. Without this kiss 2008 goodbye.

Ross you need to bring in the pyschologists to get inside this bunch's brains. They aren't gelling and aren't helping each other enough to overcome the team speed deficiency.
