Vintage.
How good was it?
I haven't been that elated for a while.

Just like fine wine :)

In his Q4 goal - it was as if the world whirled around him for a while while he moved effortlessly to position himself to kick. No one looked like they could touch him.

A real highlight

He is probably one of a handful of players who can do that. Shake a tackle, stay composed and line it up. Never panics.

But Derm said he was sad and too old?

Lance or James??

Just watch him and his commentating buddy claim credit for firing up Harves with their clever little piece of 'reverse psychology'. :)

Yes very true. Just like a fine wine ..... gets better with age. :D

I loved it it was like slow motion, picked it up looked around and thought why not? and slotted it. The first thing that came to my mind was poise and class.

I was red in the face screaming BAAAAAAAAAANNNNNGEEEEERRRR !!!!!

It would Definitely make the final cut in the R.Harvey career highlights reel. Superb!
And what great value he's proved to be, even though there were serious doubts by some that he no longer "has what it takes" of the experts over the course of the NAB Cup :D

dermie was a brilliant player, however after 150 games he was finished.

he played a couple of seasons at sydney and collingwood and even his last year at hawthorn were a joke of what he was at his peak.

it must make his jealous that harvey still gets accolades at 36 when he was finished at 26.

(although it coincided with hawthorns period of greatness)

The great thing about that goal was the previous bit of play was G getting tackled and spilling the ball and the Tiggers fans behind the goals going ape droppings for not get their 6,534th free kick for the game

That was absolute CLASS. I remember him doing a similar thing against the roos - breaking a tackle, dodging 3 opponents, goals in sights, looking for a better option, taking a punt himself. Awesome stuff god i love that guy that was inspirational along with his celebration afterwards.
I may have been too young to witness the likes of Barker and even Lockett but i am honoured to say i had the privlidge of watching Robert Harvey.

Words simply cant describe the great man and how he goes about things.

That goal certainly got me fired up. As the clock runs down on his career i am savouring every little momment of brilliance like that.

Lets hope that Banger can slot a few more goals like that for the rest of the year to put paid to his critics.

Simply awesome goal by a legend of the game. Our best goal of the year so far.

Yeah - if you look at the replay closely he touched the ball three times in about 4 seconds in that bit of play - and then got to receive the handball before the tackle and goal - even my wife was impressed with Harves effort and mentioned GTs media jibe - and she does not even support us!
Brilliant Harves!
