I think his last two games have been poor in that in both he has had too many poor decisions....
He is however just back fro being injured and so this gives him some leeway.

In the Tigers game however when he and X were moved to the wings it seemed to makea significant positive impact.

However poor decision making and footskills have cost us dear and the 4 points against the Pies.

So yes Schnieder is one player who will have ? against his name for this game.
I have no doubt that in for that he is easily in our best 22....u he may be givena game at cey to find touch wit CJ or Bakes coming i.

I think he may be reatained though....but another such error prone game would see him at Casey.

He didn't have a bad game there were about 12 worse players than him!!
It's not all about stats but here are his from Friday!
13 kicks, 8 HB, 21 P, 7 Ma, 2 Tac, 3 FF, 1 FA

Not too bad I think!!!
But what impact did his possesions have? I only listened to the radiocast and didn't really notice him, I just feel the last few games I've seen he has made little to no impact and we're at a point where Ross is trying to push that we're attacking, it could all start by playing more attacking players.
The Pies game was Dempster's best for the Saints.

Cheers on both responses, and I agree with your first post however I'm pretty keen on getting a few more new blokes into the team at the moment.

SRR, usually like your posts, but I thought Dempster was by far our worst Friday night. He was on Didak, who was their only effective forward, cannot tackle to save his life and kicks sideways more than CJ.

For me he is the first one dropped.

Didak is a very good player.

In all but 2 games this year he has had more than 20 disposals. This was one of his sub-20 games....though yes he nailed 3 goals.

Davis had 29 disposals.

Now I am not saying that dempter hada good game,,,,,but I think it is along way from being as bad as some see it.

However would I be upset if Geary or Baker came in for Dempster? = No

Thought Davis drifted up the ground a bit more than just playing forward, agree he played well though.

Davis was also being 'defended' (haha) by Gram.

Any decent player will get 29 touches against Casper the friendly ghost.

Out : Gehrig, Gram (for a Joel Bowden like spell in the 2's), Clarke (& C.Gardiner if Roo comes up).

In : McEvoy, Geary, Jones

Schneider was pretty much useless, but he has missed a few games and may be just out of touch. Remember he used to play for Sydney along with Dempster, so Rossy may very well look after them, given his strong background knowledge of their potential....

Drop Birss???

He played on Shaw.

Some commentators were pussing Shaw as a possible AA selection this year based on his form to date....

Birrs limited his effect and possssions while kicking 2 goals himself.
Shaw at 11 disposals...last week against the Hawks he had 34 disposals and has averaged 24 per game this year.

I am not sure why you would want to drop him. He might be handy to run with S Black for example.

Travis Johnston proved on Saturday night against Carlton that he still needs to be shown respect.

Birss would seem like his ideal opponent, especially if Johnston returns to the back flank.

OK - call me Blind Freddy but I thought our problems on Friday night (in this season in general) stemmed from two things:

A) Our inability to kicks GOALS
and B) The umpiring

It was surely a game we could have, and should have, won. I counted four goals (plus a couple denied of us) that Collingwood scored as a DIRECT RESULT of bad umpiring.

That aside, I think clearly our biggest problem is point A - INABILITY TO KICK GOALS

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but:

WE DO NOT HAVE A FULL FORWARD

We have a clutch of very capable CHF's and small forwards, but honestly we don't possess a true FF (a Fevola type FF).

Our defence and our midfield, even with injuries, for mine does a FANTASTIC job. They are hard, super-competitive and will mix it with any team on any day. Agreed I think delivery into the forward fifty could use work, however...

We are constantly being let down by our inability to translate all this hard-work into a damaging score.

Fraser is GONE. He was our FF.

We need to elevate or adapt a replacement ASAP.

Options -

GODDARD to FF. He's the best kick in the team, takes a good grab and he's pretty quick off the mark.

Who else has the requisite pace, mark and kick? JIMMY GWILT? ALLEN? From what I've seen of these two they are more the CHF/FLANK type players. FERG? Doesn't seem quick enough.

For mine, I say send BJ down there for a couple of games. See what happens. Maybe he can do a Bradshaw.

So, changes for this week --

That is the worry, however I think our defence is as good as Carltons (which isnt good either) and our midfield preassure will be better so hopefully we can hold them to 6 and give ourselves a chance to win the game.

Maybe this year?

oh dont get me wrong, i think we can beat them.
but we'll have to be at nearly at our best to knock them off up there when they are playing good footy.

going to be a tough game.
either a close one, or a flogging imo

If Bradshaw gets Hudghton, he'll be lucky to get 3. Brown might kick a few, but it isn't usually the talls that get us.

Seems like it's gonna go that way hey. My thoughts would be Max on Brown Blake on Bradshaw with the S. Fisher loose man dropping back on whichever one is going better. Bradshaw's had a great season, but he got completely dominated by Jamison on the weekend, not exactly a star KP back. Could just be an off game, but maybe getting beaten so badly by Scarlett two weeks ago robbed him of confidence/form? Let's hope so anyway.

As for ins, just as long as the bring in blokes who look like they actually want to be there I'll be happy.
