I realise he's doing year 12 this year but any chance of him making a debut this year?

In the nab he showed he wasn't affraid to get in and under and mix it up.

He provides good run and will be a future star.[/b]

He's still a rookie isn't he? But yes - he's going to make it!

not a rookie, just a very naughty boy....

all serious it would be great to see him get a game or two but that would put him ahead of schedule

Showed in the NAB cup?

With what, all his 4 possessions.

What a difference kicking a late chance goal to snatch a game does for your reputation.

The possession stats don't do him favours. He didn't get much game time however the way he went in and was willing to block and tackle was positive. Especially from an underaged kid.

Have watched in VFL - great courage & determination - gets the hard ball & disposal good - compare his enthusiasm & guts with some STILL getting games this year in spite of form!

Good young boy hard at the ball and only has eyes for it, no doubt he will be a great player at AFL level but no now hes a bit too young and his body isnt upto it yet i dont think.

preseason form indicated (to me anyway) that he would have to displace Milne to get a spot (for this season, was never going to break into the midfield)...

Milne's been alright

probably not cause a few years ago xavier ellis had to finish off year 12 and he was no 1 draft pick

No, but he was a top 5 pick I think.

I'm not sure if he is ready *just* yet but in an earlier post I think I said he should play between 5-7 games this year - would do wonders for his development.

We don't want another Josh Houlihan.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

With school etc probably the ONLY opportunity for Jack would be in the school holidays. He probably only makes it to 1 or 2 training sessions with the team now. At least he will be training with the group through the holidays !!

maybe he only got a few possesions .. but he also had limited game time.

Importantly in the vision I have seen of him he knows where to run to get the ball and is clever when he does get it. Will need to work on his strength to get a game at the top level as he was too easily moved aside - but that will come - hopefully a good preseason on the weights.

I dont often get excited by glimpses of pre-season form - but I think the kid has got what it takes to burst onto the scene next year or the year after.

Really excited about this kid, doubt he will debut this year, but I would expect him to play 16+ games next year in the forward pocket and hopefully getting some bursts in the middle...

He is a future Simon Black type player (obviously very unlikely to reach the same level) and I hope he will play a big part, along with Armo, in the future of our midfield...

There is no science to it....

Sometimes you just see a young kid/player and you think....yes they have something special about them...

I remember the fist time I saw Everitt play...was at Kardinia Park in the reserves...he just reached down to scoop up the ball..and then slotted a magnificent pass....and I thought then that yes he would be something special.

Steven makes me think that.

He has not done a lot yet...but what he has done just shouts class...

He looks to be a player.

Very early days yet, but I think we will pick looking back in future years at pick 42 in future as one of our bargain pick ups.

Was picked up as a Paul Chapman type forward/midfielder. A player who we could have really benefited from.

Speaking to John Beveridge at Casey a couple of weeks ago, Jack is very unlikely to play any football this year due to school coming before footy. He is finishing off year 12 much like Luke Ball did in 2002. He has only been completing about 50% of the training sessions.

Jack is the most exciting player I have seen come through the club for sometime. Has a bit of an 'X' factor that I think we seem to be lacking at the moment. His toughness will be a major asset to our team in a few years time.

I remember thinking the exact same thing, at Moorabbin in the 2's. I was probably 8 or 9 years old then. (when did he make his debut?)

LOL....I remember watching my first glimpses of Spider.

less than 10 years old at the time. Thought he was a pure hack. Which my uncle has reminded me for quite some time.
