AFL ladder predictor thread.

Post: # 577953Post ben_fff »

Well I'm obviously bias but I truly believe we could win our way to the top 4.

Geelong 19 3
Bris Lions 18 4
Sydney 16 5 1
St Kilda 15 7
Hawthorn 15 7
Richmond 13 8 1
Nth Melb 13 8 1
W Bulldogs 12 9 1
Adelaide 12 10
Port Adel 12 10
Collingwood 10 12
West Coast 6 16
Carlton 5 17
Fremantle 4 18
Essendon 2 20
Melbourne 2 20

That's pretty accurate to how I rate the teams, our draw isn't that bad really, I still think we have the quality of cattle to win enough games and get that high, I doubt our percentage will touch the hawks though... from our position to Collingwood I see the league as pretty even, the Hawks have performed well but I still think once they lose they'll have a similar fall as we did the second half of 04, Brisbane and Sydney are the suprises for me, both teams are so even across the field and I feel either could beat Geelong on any day.

after tonight and last week, i cant see Adelaide making the finals

They have had the easiest of draws to date and they have a tough lot coming up, they could lose 3 or 4 of the next 5 to put them back in the middle of the pack

i think they are the ones that are most vulnerable

Christ If we get anywhere but 8th there wil be blood in the streets.
Lyons head will be on the block and I'd imagine a fair few players who are fridge dwellers and out of contract going.
The side will look nothing like it does now, wholesale moves and departures.
This new board promised "Footy First"
Right now it seems to be Fisting First.
Round 10 and nothing but questions and not really a decent victory to brag about.
If it all come good I'll eat my hat, right now we are just overrated try hards.
To see North tonight really try hard and give it a shake in wet conditions and us last week in good conditions look crap makes me wonder.
Nothing but a 10 goal victory tommorow will change my mind

Followed Saints since '71
Sir Robert Harvey was my favorite player
Stewie Lowe and Plugger before that.
Loved watching Rooey and Jack Steven
Now looking forward to the future

A 60 point win against Melbourne would mean absolutely nothing to me. We have always been able to beat the crap teams. A couple of 2 goal wins in the next two weeks against the Bulldogs and Sydney would do a lot more for me than a 90 point win tomorrow.

Well I was way off but I can see us making a run at the four now it's in touch, results go our way for the first time in a few years and we'll be a real shot at the cup... providing we reel in the massive difference between the rest of the comp and Geelong.

So on this prediction, assuming round 1, cats beat woods, and dogs beat hawks, would we play :
1. adelaide at telstra round 1
2. when we win, play loser of dogs and hawks;
3. when we win that, play winner of what?

Seems like 5th would be easier in the finals than 4th.
