Are St.Kilda Playing Dead!!
Is there one single iota of a chance that we are playing dead??
When Lyon was at Sydney they were renowned as being slow starters before eventually putting it together towards the end of the season
Could we be holding back ie: trying a few different set ups - covering all bases - so we know what set ups work an what set ups don't work come finals time
Could it be that we know that we can turn it on at any stage and therefore know we can make the finals quite easily
Could it be possible that we playing a game of cat and mouse??
Last year we started slow and finished stronger - held back by a few injuries - this year is we are in a similar position albeit one win more advanced
I put it too you my fellow Saintsationalists is it possible to pull off in this day and age of AFL Football a "Dope on the Rope - Rumble in the Jungle" Premiership Victory
I always thought that if we made the finals last year there would have been a few teams crapping themselves that we had made it and I believe the same goes for this year
If we are feigning crapness then watch out!!!

Yes, but not on purpose.
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Isn't it plainly obvious those misses are part of the grandmaster plan to deceive and lure other top 8 teams into a false sense of superiority before we unleash the beast and make them pay for their arrogant insolencesantazzi wrote:Hey Devilhead..........I am a subscriber of your theory of "playing dead"....But there is one aspect that does not fit in the theory....those dreadful misses in front of goal...............

I was listening to Jarrod Malloy last Saturday calling the Adelaide/Richmond game. he mentioned a couple of times that Adelaide go through different times of heavy/light training through the year to peak at different times and hopefully August/September.
I seem to recall us doing that after the year we won 10 in a row and faded away.
I don't think it's a bad idea, but it's risky and can end up with egg on our face.

One day it's all got to be worth it.
Right????

Perhaps Lyon is taking a little too much from Roos after all...santazzi wrote:Hey Devilhead..........I am a subscriber of your theory of "playing dead"....But there is one aspect that does not fit in the theory....those dreadful misses in front of goal...............

Boring, uninspired football characterised by woeful skills, our best players spending inordinate amounts of time on the bench, players played unfit or out of position, the team losing games, the supporters increasingly disillusioned and unlikely to sign up for membership next year in the numbers we need. Yep, it's all part of RL's master plan!

Even if we'd finished 8th, or 7th or even 6th for that matter last year.degruch wrote:Well...you saw what happened last year...we'll do it again, no doubt. Hopefully we'll be at least one position better.
We would have been knocked out first week. You can manipulate it how you want, but the cold hard fact is we only beat 4 top eight teams throughout the whole year.
We don't cut it with the top 8.

That doesn't mean we won't make the 8...if we do, that's an improvement, therefore, positive.Saintschampions08 wrote:Even if we'd finished 8th, or 7th or even 6th for that matter last year.degruch wrote:Well...you saw what happened last year...we'll do it again, no doubt.
