for me it is definetly robert harvey, hasnt done anything other than play the footy and i dont think has ever been reported

Bit of a strange thread to start on a Saints forum. Just a hunch, but I get the feeling 95% of us respect Robert Harvey the most.

Outside of the Saints, it used to be James Hird but nowadays I have a lot of respect for Luke Power and Richo

Outside the Saints, it would be Scott West and Richo. These guys have played a long time in predominantly losing sides, but continued to be rated amongst the very best. True champions...but Harvs beats them all!!!

I think even Mr Harvey has done that or atleast by accussed of it!!

I respect Kerr - I reckon he is a gun.. Its my opinion, glad we had differing opinions cos the world world be boring if we didnt..

Can I just say though: Yes, I know Kerr wont win an Australian of the Year Medal anytime soon but I resperct him on the field..

I would say aside from Harvs obviously (goes without saying) and Trevor Barker (also goes without saying) of our current players I respect Lenny Hayes the most. The man works his tail off, leads from teh front and has a tiny media profile compared with players with half his skill.

Other than St Kilda players I have to say I respect Adam Ramanaskaus (sic probably) from Essendon the most. Anyone who beats cancer has my total unreserved respect.

As a player, attitude and personal achievements it's easy to look at Robert Harvey but for me for selflessness and sacrifice for the club IMO no-one but no-one compares to Trevor Barker . He gave and did things for the club that I believe nobody else would do. If we we're able to have the correct figures to do all the sums it wouldn't surprise me if overall he paid money to play for the club.

I'm sure he is a far bigger loss to this club long term than any of us will ever know.

For non-saints, Jason McCartney for mine. True Champion.

I would say the current players respected the most by other players within the AFL are: Sir Robert, Jono Brown, Andrew Mcleod and Gary Jnr.
Remember, the kangaroos players were instructed to not even try tackling Ablett - that's a massive sign of respect.
