Who would your ideal assistants be?

Post: # 604102Post WayneJudson42 »

Excluding the head coach, who would your ideal assistant coaches be?

I'll start...

Mids: Buckley

Defence:

Forward: Dunstall / Gherig?

Kicking: Jason Heatley

Endurance: Harves

Ruck: Madden

Any thoughts?

NO personal attacks on current coaches allowed!

Um I don't think all those categories are standard.

Positive we don't have a kicking coach.

Mids; Robert Harvey

Defence; Danny Frawley (SOS is doing a great job)

Forwards; Plugger

Ruck; Stephen King

No we don't But we sure as hell need one

Interesting choice with spud. Don't think Plugger would make a good coach.

As only you could... P66

Surely Kain Taylor would be better than Windbanks?

thought we were talking about coaching?

didn't loewe, lockett remark on his advise to them?

it seems like 2 decades ago now...

Matthews, Sheedy, Malthouse.

Realistically, I'd have
Terry Daniher, Rock, Silvagni.

Also, just because someone was good at something while they played, doesn't make them a good coach of it.

Plugger and Dunstall would make hopeless assistant coaches.

Get Plugger back as an advisor to public relations. He could teach the kids a thing or two about how to handle the media.....

Ahh stuff it,just get him back, put the old number 4 on his back and let him stand in the goal square again,it will be like christmas everyday!

Yeah, Plugger as PR manager, anger manager, dietician, and of course we'd stick him in the goalsquare.

Plugger's "defensive pressure" defined: Scarlett you pryck. Run off me and I'll crush your skull, rip ya nuts off and shove em up ya arse!

Plugger was pretty ordinary the year he made his one year comeback with Sydney, dont think he would have improved since............

I only think of him as an ex Sydney player,i prefer players who start and finish at the one club...

Harvey the obvious example......

Saints looking like a bottom 4 team in 2024.

Buckley/Riccuto/Hird midfield & hamill or Alistair Lynch forwards, like the idea of spud for defence, maybe Gary Ayres for defence.....50 POSTS IN 5 YEARS wooohooooo.

Lynch sounds like a bit of a meathead. If the media is anything to go by, then Buckley > Ricciuto, and Dunstall > Lynch. What about G Lyon?

He would spend the whole time pondering how we could get Chris Judd across to the Saints.

The dudes obsessed with him.

"Okay" is not good enough. And besides, I think that is overrating him substantially.

Thanks for your input on this topic Mr Barker. Now get back to work and start eaching our forward how to kick goals.

Just think we could be worse off Tigers have Jade Rawlings teaching Goal kicking isn't he the guy who had the yips so bad it ended his career?
