No, but it has something to do with the lake or what maybe was there many years ago......

ok...

I've kicked Jnr off as its his bed time (no school for him tomorrow)

If you want a clue, as I said before the only reference I have is the net and the book "100 years of Australian Football"

well it's not on the net......

It's what I mentioned in my last post, it has something to do with the lake, but back then there was no man made lake.

From what I gather it might have been a swamp (got that from the net)

Selhurst Saint is right, I think - "The Lakeside Premiership". This piece of non-existant silverware had it's finest day in 1923, when the Saints (with Dave McNamara) met South (with ex-Saint Roy Cazaly) at the Lakeside Oval to fight out the last place in the Final 4. Unfortunately, South won.

No ric, Selhurst Saint is not right.

You are right about David McNarmara as the player mentioned in an article I am referring to, but it was much earlier than 1923....

If no one gets it by tomorrow, I'll give it to Selhurst Saint.

Great! I finally get to ask a question. Here goes -

St Kilda played it's first games at a ground known as the Alpaca Paddock. What building now stands on the site of that ground?

Damn, I just found the answer to the last question. Well done Riccardo.

I think the alpacca paddock is now the St.Kilda Bowling Club.

It must be the StKilda Park State School then, not sure if it is still used as a school but it is a grand old building.

This might be obscure, but what was significant about the last time Russell Greene touched the footy in a game for St.Kilda.

This is just a guess, as I have no real idea on this one.

The siren went?

Or was his last game - 1980 - Round 3 MCG

Richmond 18.20 - 128 drew
St Kilda 19.14 - 128

and Russell Greene had something to do with the drawn game?

I'll pay that St.Fid.

We were actually 6 pts in front with one minute to go. Richmond booted the ball into their goal square only for Russell Greene to rise above the pack to take a screamer. I was still jumping up and down going nuts when he had a brain freeze and tried to handball over the top. The ball was blocked by Richmond and Kevin Bartlett ran onto the ball to slam it home to seal a draw.

Come Thursday we had traded Greene for Mark Scott and King. It happened that quick that Scott and King both wore their yellow Hawthorn boots in their first game for us. It looked ridiculous.

WOW, thanks Selhurst...

Why was Neil Roberts dismissed as a Committeeman after giving 15 years service to the Saints?

And in what year did this happen?

Roberts was dismissed for making some pretty inflammatory criticisms of the VFL in the paper (Sporting Globe?) and on Channel 7, where he was a panelist on World of Sport (the '60's James Hird, perhaps?). He also demanded Verdun Howell played the backline again. This was in 1966.
