And I was very impressed actually. Probably the best spoken footballer I've ever listened to. Not only was his speech fantastic but the point he got across with each explanation was actually digestible and interesting. He probably wouldn't be too interested in coming to us but I would be keen on him being apart of our coaching/development team in future years.

Really impressive. Gave a considered answer to every question. Sidestepped the tricky ones well.

I always doubted the wisdom of getting rid of him, but I sat there listening to him and really felt the club had let a quality player and person go.

The only balancing consideration was that the club thought it was getting a long term player in Aaron Hammil, which would could have worked out ok except that he unfortunately broke down.

But a really impressive person. No superficial crap from Shane.

Daryl Wakelin was involved in the trade to get Aaron Hamill.

Shane was delisted because of concerns about his ankle I think.

You're quite right.

I thought Shane said OTC that it was him, but perhaps he must have been referring to Daryl at that stage.

St Kilda traded Daryl to PA for Pick 4, which it then traded to Carlton (along with Sam Cranage) for Aaron Hamill.

It simply delisted Shane. Checking the records it seems he had an achilles problem, which became infected after surgery.
