You can be forgiven for that mate, nobody could have expected the finnish, given our mid year stint.

anybody who has not had even a small doubt this year is unusual to say the least.

Go Saints

8 out of our last 10 and probably should've won all 10.

Bring out a DVD?

I don't think anyone was thinking about the top 4 eight days ago. It all starts again now. The last 22 weeks is irrelevant. All that matters is who plays well and has a bit of luck in the next 4 weeks.

yep i pretty much gave up 1/2 way through the season.

i think those who thought ross couldn't coach might be a bit quiet (me!) those who thought are list was rubbish and ross picked a lemon side are a bit wrong too.

looks like the mechanic tuned the engine just right this game.

next week lets see how the engine runs and how the mechanic tunes the car.

playing geelong is where season 2008 is.

I think I called season over at one stage too, probably in the Collingwood or WCE match day thread.

I have always had faith in Ross Lyon as coach though.

Just his ability to keep going every week after we all got feral through the middle of the season, well he could be the best decision our club has made for a long time.

Many others would have folded 2 months ago, well done Ross.

You can put me in that category too.

Our form was shocking and we looked like a cellar dwelling team. I was ready to trade and build...thinking "Here we go again. How long till we will be a force again?"

Here's hoping the boys can continue to lift. Confidence is a wonderful thing.

At our lowest point, I nearly refused to go to another game this year. Glad to be proved wrong!

I'd be dissapointed.

we know we don't have a rubbish list like some would have you believe.

and we know ross can lead the team to stunning victories (hawks second half would be the best win of the season, this game included, and beating the swannies early in the season a close second).

the question is of consistency.

Geelong don't have a CHF or a FF or a quality ruckman, WCE never had a great CHF or a FF and Sydney had a team of top GOPS, so filling every position in the list with a superstar is not necessary for a flag.

where geelong differ from everyone else in the competition is that they play like that 3-4 quarters, 9 out of 10 games.

St kilda has played 1-2 quarters like that 6 out of 10 games.

our first quarter against the dogs and the cats was champagne football, followed by 3 quarters of rubbish.

I am proud to say Ive ALWAYS had faith in Lyon.....the list no.. still think it can be improved (see geelong) but we have the MAN to work on that and thats what Im most happy about.

I gave up by round 5. Season was over.

Ross Lyon should be sacked.

Raph Clarke should be traded.

Kosi should be traded.

I know absolutely nothing about football. Ignore me henceforth, if you already haven't done so.

No time for anyone to be berating themselves.

You're all Sainters and all is forgiven.
It's our lot to deal with heartbreak and disappointment.
Now, however, is not that time.
It's now time to unite as one and give our team every ounce of support we can.

The Saints have shown what we can expect when they play their best.
Our boys' best can beat anyone, and they need our support to make it happen.
The Greatest Saint ever is poised to fulfill his dream by taking home football's biggest prize.

The Cat's better be quaking in their boots because......

THE SAINTS ARE COMING!!!

YEAH, BABY!!!!!!!!!

True, but you gotta be in it... to win it.

Let's worry about that if and when it happens.

The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

What do you call Mooney and Ottens. Don't get ahead of yourself, although even we have a chance. I just hope the Cats think we are easybeats.

mooney is a battler and ottens is not a super player, they are both good disciplined players, but hardly guns.
