Doesn't it sounds ridiculous though?? Kerr for Dal Santo. A few years back you'd have given 2 Kerrs for one Dal Santo. It's a bloody joke! :(

Maybe we pay these blokes too much?? The Cats have taken pay cuts and are setting the field on fire. Begs the question.

Yeah, I'm totally with you there. I dunno what's gotten into NDS though...I remember laughing at a Weagles supporter when they suggested we'd be gagging for a player like Judd, saying that we had Dal Santo. Luckily, we both have egg on our faces now.

id like dal and kerr in the same team. Dal is under achieving, if we get him firing along side kerr our mid would improve drastically.

What's the point of losing a good player to gain a good player......especially who essentially play in the same position.......

Kerr maybe a bit better....(but the net gain isn't really going to help)

Prefer to develop Armo, Steven, Geary, Allen, McEvoy to become a better side......

I remember Dal having a hot third term and putting the hawks away single handidly a while back......how many player do we have that can do that......

Ling got him agian........he gets most......as does K.Cornes.....they would stop Kerr aswell

Prefer to take the Cats approach and develop our own. Leadsto commitment as well as enabling pay restraint.

Giving up dal for kerr is stupidity.

Dal has had a poor season, but also carried illness for about 4 or 5 week, plus as mart says, he was key in winning some big games.

We need to significantly improve our OVERALL talent in the midfield. Replacing a quality mid, with another slightly better mid (on current form), doesn't add much.

We would need to be trading other player types were we feel we have a surplus of strenghts.....but I don't know where that is....

Hence my point of it being ridiculous. So at the end of the day it all boils down to this, I'd sooner have a performer than a non-performer.

Dal may well need to harden the f*** up, but should no way be on the table.

CJ
Fiora
Rix
CG
Geary

and a 3rd round pick

In all seriousness... There are elite runners in the AFL, and the reason they are great players is because the train hard... and when others stop, they train even harder.

That's what's made guys like Harvey, Kerr, Cousins etc such great players. So why can't Dal do the same? The question remains... just how great a player does HE want to become?

My concern is and this may be because I live in WA if we take Kerr then get Ben and have Gardiner we will start looking like an Eagles reject team. Lets develope our own boys with their own style and have the other teams look up to us, it may take a bit longer but nhte long run it will benefit the club.

Doesn't everyone think that should our season end in disappointment again this year that either Kosi or Dal will go?

I am 99% sure that next year 1 of those players will not be wearing a St Kilda jumper.

My tip is that Dal will be at Essendon or Richmond, maybe a 3 way trade and we'll find Kerr in a St Kilda jumper.

I can't see the sense in swapping Dal for Kerr..

Now Kerr is a better mid....BUT we need more midfielders and not less.

Kosi is not core to our future success....but retaining Dal..and adding to our midfield is (whether that is done by draft, or trade, or both....).

Banger is retiring.

Lenny is 28 year 7 months
Baker is 28 and 3..and injury proan..

Dal is 24 and 6..in his prime...

So while Kerr is better than Dal, but Dal is still better than most...losing Dal to get him would only be a marginal improvement = does not make sense.

What we need is more mids...and not just swapping one for a slightly better one....particaulary as Kerr would be Dal plus a pick.

If this is the case, why hasn't Dal come on? Either not up to it... lazy... or not happy at the club.

Given 2 equal players... and 1 brings a better work ethic to the team... I'll go with the worker, every day. More parts to the equation than just player skill.

Take CJ as an example. Lesser player than Dal, yet seems to inject some passion and grunt into the team.

Kosi is a different matter. If we could keep Dal and add Kerr... I'd take it.

I agree with the essence of that BUT if we are going to step up Lyon needs to finda way of improving Dal...and in adding to our midfield.

I think too however that if we can improve our midfield that Dal will prosper too. I think is role is asa genuine outside mid cum hf...

First two picks.

Either that or we draft another Armitage/McQualter/Clarke and Howard/Ferguson.

I would be comfortable giving up Aaron Fiora for Kerr...

And a pig just flew past my window...
