No - don't lie to support your argument.....

No he said "crap ruckman were not important"......

He is not our coach, R.Lyon is......He was once our coach....and had a good record, as R.Lyon has.

Just no Ultimate prize

Again - tell the whole truth

Will cost too much and too old.

Don't forget that after this year, the draft will basically be useless for the next 3-4 years.

So at the end of this year we should aim to have as many youngsters on our list as possible.

Our needs?
- Key defender
- Pace (midfielders/half forwards)
- Medium marking forward
- Ball-winning mids
- Ruckmen

O'Keefe doesn't fit any of that criteria.

He's got maybe 50 games left in him ... I don't see a massive use.

However, it all depends on the price.

If we could snare him for a fringe player (L. Fisher) plus a 3rd round pick, then it might be tempting ...

I once considered him a great player (two to three years ago)

Unlike some on here that still consider him a great player now...

Yes, he will be a good pick up if we don't give too much away

I think he will be 28 next year and is looking to secure his final years with his last contract

He has good over head skills and can take a good mark and can be a further option to roo..

But again, in the last two seasons he has only managed 1 goal a match...

If we secure him as a leading/marking forward that at least either kicks goals has goal assists without too much to give back in return, well, he will be a great pick up..

NO number 1 draft pick

Player and a round 2

or

Players and a round 3

Again, this will more than likely be his last contract and IMO he will be wanting big $$$... or at least more than the Swans have offered him

That's a worry IMO

It's okay we're going to bottom out anyway when our 28 year olds retire unless we get young kids and lots of them.

Lets do a straight swap..

Charlie Gardiner for Ryan O'Keefe....

Sydney will then be able to use Gardiner in tandem with Playfair....

just like Geelong did in the past.....

Gardiner and Playfair would be as effective on the last day in September
as Mooney and Lonergan were.....

with 80% of teams going for the youth policy route, it's the reason we have been able to pick up some bargains in the last 2 years in regards to recycled players.

Schneider wasn't delisted, he was never cut from the list. He was traded.

You've gotta look at all players who may improve your club but it all depends what you have to give in return.

You wouldn't trade away a 1st rounder or anything for him but the L.Fisher and 2nd rd for O'Keefe and 3rd rd example is what we'd look at. (not that swans would do that anyway)

O'Keefe is a jet, exactly what we need a hit up forward option to take the heat off Riewoldt, he is aggressive, strong and has one of the biggest engines in the AFL. Best part is he has barely missed a game in 5 years. He hasn't kicked many goals because of the role he plays at Sydney.

He almost plays as an extra midfielder and has averaged nearly 19 posessions a game over the last 4 years. His work rate is brilliant and he averages almost 3 tackles a game. He also is taller than people think, 190 cm is taller than Blake, Goddard, Gwilt and Raph and only marginally shorter than our key defenders.

The other thing that sh1ts me is people going on about how old he is, ffs he is only 28, most players are in their prime at this age, he is younger than Hayes and Baker and the same age as Fiora and Blake. He has no serious injuries and could easily go at least another 4-5 years.
We all jumped for joy when max decided to play on yet he is 33 and has a history of injuries so where was the roar of delist him.
O'keefe is one of the standouts available this year and we would be stupid to not make a serious go at him.

I agree, he is the third tall we are crying out for, give them a 2nd rounder and hope they take it (likely not).

Max is 32, just turned, can we all get it right PLEASE.
He is old enough, don't age him

That's 1 goal per game more than Gwilt, Charlie, Allen or Eddy

I know what you're saying and I don't disagree. But do you think we can win a flag in the next 50 games? Would he help our chances? Cousins is older and is more of a risk for obvious reasons. I reckon we can make it work, whatever way we go.

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.
