Nab Cup

Post: # 667890Post R. Harvey 3 votes! »

Hi all

Anyone heard any news regarding the Nab Cup next year and whether it is on at all? Even who we might be playing?

Cheers

RH3V

When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

only indicators so far

Last year released on Oct 26th

http://www.afl.com.au/News/NEWSARTICLE/ ... wsId=69074
PROPOSED new rules would see teams limited as to the number of players over the age of 23 that could be selected for the early rounds of the 2009 NAB Cup
>....
The Committee, which has sought feedback from the 16 clubs on these proposals, will present the AFL Executive and Commission with a final draft of its recommendations following its final meeting on October 27.
which would mean sometime after Oct 27th they will announce rules and you would think maybe the dtes.

Ok, so the AFL have endorsed the nab crap as an Official Wankfest Practice Match Series (not a bad new name eh?).

I'm looking forward to it being scrapped when we go to a 24 round season when the next broadcast rights come into play!

No matter how long you extend the season length to coaches are still going to want to let their players have practice matches and the AFL are going to want to milk as much money out of it as possible...

I am quite interested in the new rules about U/23 year olds, it could be very interesting... It will be nice to see how younger players are developing and you know they will give it their all regardless of what the match actually means...

Because thye only ever play 4 real games interstate each year.

Bleeting Eddie will no doubt reckon that an O/S Nab crap game equates to an extra 2 real season games, balancing the ledger!

I bet if GT was still coach he'd be pushing for us to play O/S, so the AFL could subsidise the O/S training camps/junkets he was so keen on!

In come the dollars and in come the cents
to replace the pounds and the shillings and the pence.
Be prepared folks when the coins begin to mix
on the 14th of February 1966.

Clink go the cents folks
clink, clink, clink. Changeover day is closer than you think.
Learn the value of the coins and the way that they appear
and things will be much smoother when the decimal point is here.

In come the dollars and in come the cents
to replace the pounds and the shillings and the pence.
Be prepared folks when the coins begin to mix
on the 14th of February 1966.

Actually hope the pies meet the lions in Sth Africa. Not the ones from Brisbane the real ones, they'd have nothing to fear because they would sense that the pies are a protected species.

Must admit though, the only real travelling the pies will do all year, maybe they should re locate there.
