One team town (for now)? Could argue that he would have more.
Its the same with Melbourne Storm in the NRL.
Yes it is a 1 team town but Rugby is not the main sport so "bad boys" that come here to play settle down because they are out of the spotlight somewhat.

I think the problem is Voss has a bit of a messiah complex, possibly due to his naivity in the job. He thinks he can rebuild Brisbane and he thinks he can turn Ben's life around. Good luck to him if he can but with so much to learn and adjust to as a first-year coach (with no apprenticeship) I don't you need to deal with this on top.
Of course this is all just coming from two strong beliefs I have.
1. I want Ben Cousins at St Kilda
2. Michael Voss is all corporate motivation speak and has no idea how to coach.
i agree with you on all counts. can i buy you a beer? m voss really annoys me.
on the flip side i reckon the lions are closer than people think. they have some decent young players - rischi, adcock, brennan, leunberger, the new kid from perth (his name escapes me).
also no crown casino in perth... and he can go surfing during the week up there... im worried now
However if Ricky Nixon is doing his job right he will have placed great emphasis on what a club is prepared to do for Ben to help him.
If a club like Brisbane approaches Nixon at the last minute they should be in for a shock.
I would expect Nixon to say that St Kilda has guaranteed to do this and that for Ben, and if Brisbane is not prepared to guarantee the same they should not waste their pick.
Voss has said he may like to have Ben as player but has not even started to think about the other issues involved.
I would expect Voss to decide against proceeding at last minute as too dfficult.
Of course if St Kilda has not been through these processes they should also stay clear.
This player needs to be treated as a special case by which ever club picks him.
Either way Nixon should be able to let St Kilda know before the draft if Brisbane is seriously interested or just being mischevious.
Lets not forget mischevious and publicity seeking are part of Voss' character.

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.

I would think if it's decided he should go to the Saints, Ricky Nixon would paint any attempt to gazump or hinder the deal as a reckless act that could endanger the health of Cousins.... and perhaps rightly so.
