In the final round of that same season. Which players crucial interception of a kick in ultimately resulted in the ball finishing in Barry Hall's hands for the winning goal against Hawthorn??

Is the above right? Maybe I'll just jump in and ask a new question anyways, just to keep this going -

Possible captain-to-be Max Hudgeton joined the Saints in 1997 from West Brisbane FC. Which former Saint defender, who was then West Brisbanes coach, reccomended the corageous number 8 to us?

Not as high profile as Barry. More recent, too.

I remember reading about it about 2 weeks ago, and do you think I could find the article??

I actually picked up this gem in the 3AW season review publication from '97. They used to do one each year from the mid-80s, and I have managed to get my hands on a few.

Sorry to be extremely late with the answer.
It was actually Brett Voss, not Lenny Hayes.

In the game against Adelaide in 2001 where Blight coached his last game, Reiwoldt and Oliver debuted and Cripps made his comeback, who played their last game for the Saints?

I'm pretty sure that Ryan is the one but I 'll have to pass on asking the next question. Maybe Riccardo can ask one for me instead.
Thanks Ric.

Go Saints :D :D

I'll do it!

OK, here goes -

New St Kilda recruit Paddy O'Brien lined up for his fist game one Saturday back in 1966. What unusual occourance caused the rover to be dropped for the next week, never to play again.

Nothing like that, it was a more tragic and ironic case.

The game was at Victoria Park, if I remember the article I read correctly.

Got it again!

The poor guy (who wore thick, horn-rimmed glasses) lost a contact lense in the rooms before the game even started, and oficials looked for nearly an hour without luck. The kid played anyway, but he couldn't even see Ross Smith (fellow rover) signaling to him from just a few metres away.

Taken off the ground in the 3rd quarter, Paddy never played footy for the Saints again.

Your go. :)

In the 1994 National draft we picked up Smith, Brown, Jones, Sziller and Elliott as well as 2 other players who both played one senior game for the Saints. Who were they and what was the common factor in the games they played for the Saints.

The two players were...

Dean Matthews and Chris Hemley

They both played their one and only match against Adelaide

Matthews in Round 3

Hemley in Round 14

in 1995

OK…

Round 2 – 1999

For those who got to the game early, the curtain raiser to the St. Kilda V Melbourne match was the Australia V Ireland Youth Tour. Some players in the Australian Squad were….

Shaun Burgoyne, Ryan Houlihan, Joel Corey and Josh Fraser.

There were three future St.Kilda players in that Australian Squad. Two current and one past player.

The former player was Caydn Beetham….

Who are the current players that played for Australia in that game?

(by the way the saints played well that day and Gavin Mitchell starred and kicked 5 goals, Stewart Loewe took 18 marks, and the great Robert Harvey had 32 possessions and kicked 2 goals)
