Obviouly Jeans but dont know if the the rest had long enough to see if they could match his acheivement as the pressure to seek the "holy grail " got too much , not only for the coaches but for the boards & the supporters alike.

Probably was Jeans but if you speak to him he clearly says he was a much better coach at Hawthorn. We had truely great sides in the 60's and yes we won our one and only flag but if Jeans had more experience we could have won another one or two so I am not so sure it is clearly Jeans as most seem to think.
If you're talking strictly in terms of premierships or grand final appearances (and not while just at the Saints) then Malcom Blight has to be close to the top.
1. Jeans - only coach to a flag
2.3 K Sheldon and S Alves both were unlucky to be sacked
4. T Barker (Resrves Coach0 had a great football brain and wold have coached us.
G Thomas spoke out to much about the umpires which might have costed us a chance to win the flag (losing that game in perth against fremantle)
1. Jeans - One of the best VFL coaches of all time.
2. Patterson (built a great list in the 70's, had the rug pulled from under him to some extent), Sheldon (very unfairly sacked), Alves (good job, didn't like the way he coached the GF though), GT (not bad, needed to address fitness).
3. Can't...
4. Think of...
5. Anyone else worth mentioning to my knowledge...bit shady on our pre-Jeans era.
