well said. i dont see how it is offensive to law enforcement. they got their man. cuffed him and locked him up. hes doing his time. that noel guy is really pushing the envelope. its just something he did for his brother, who im sure got a real kick out of it.saint08 wrote:FFS , his brother's actions were very bad, but he has been caught and given a very long prison term. He is being punished , and I'm sure BJ would understand that heoin trafficers go to jail- but does that mean that a person should give no gesture of support to their brother?
If I had a sibling in jail for something like that, - and no one is more anti drugs than me- I'd still try to be supportive during their 10 long years in jail . It's not an attempt to justify his brother's crimes, or defy the legal system , or anything offensive to the public.

The way I see it Goddard did the wrong thing from a team point of view, I don't like showboating (even though this was very very mild) and IMO it tells me he had more than just the match on his mind.
As for the social ramifications I just think they are completely insignificant.
Yes his brother is clearly a wanker for doing what he did, but does that mean his brother shouldn't support him? if your brother was thrown in jail would you just cut them off, pretend they don't exist? of course not, you would go visit them, talk to them on the phone and support them in any way you can.
The message was fine, but there's a time and a place, I don't expect to see it again.
