WITH Justin Koschitzke in form St Kilda is flying, but Sporting Life came across a quirk regarding "Kosi" this week. The Saints' big man famously polled 11 Brownlow Medal votes in just four straight games of the 2005 season - two, three, three and three. It is the sort of form Saints' fans are hoping to see more of. But upon further analysis it emerges that hot-and-cold Kosi either dominates the umpires' thinking, or is unnoticed. He did not poll another vote in that 2005 season, nor in 2006 and 2007. His career total of 20 Brownlow votes includes six lots of three votes, including one best-afield last season against North Melbourne, his only votes for 2008. In 119 games before this season, he has polled in only seven. Having said all that, he might have snaffled a few in the opening two rounds of 2009.
Most of Kosi's vote-polling games have included time spent in the ruck. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't poll a single vote out of our first two games.
Funny, I thought LRT was close to Sydney's best against us.....with Bolton......Kosi had a good patch, but 2 goals from a Key Fwd is NOT vote-worthy when you opponent has 20....he was about the sameas Gardy in that game......both good, not great....IMO...
