To be frank, I'll 'believe in us' when we win a Prelim and get a crack at a GF.

I believe in the Saints' "possibilities" before each and every Season, and before each and every game (check out my signature) but this doesn't mean I'm blind to deficiencies or that I'm waiting on the 'phone to register for GF tix just yet!
A game at a time is the sensible, in fact the ONLY way to approach this marathon race that is an AFL premiership season. I really don't give a hoot what the media and others think of us right now, I'm simply enjoying the anticipation of meeting up with my pals pre-game and (hopefully) see another Saints win.
GO SAINTERS!!!!!
Love to all

i believe we have a good enough team to match it with the contenders.

what i don't believe in is the teams skills by hand and foot at times - this is what sets geelong apart from the rest, their distribution by hand and foot is second to none.

if we can improve and match their skill, i have no doubts in oyur intensity, hardness etc.

imo is has nothing to do with being right or wrong.
and everything to do with supporting and believing your team will get there.
sure sometimes the odds look shithouse.....but ya still have to have some belief.
thats a true supporter.
if you dont believe in something then why 'follow' it?.....
<just an opinion

A true supporter loves the club, hurts when they lose and is elated when they win...it is someone who has an emotional investment in the club...it is not someone who believes we are good ....... IMO

if we were as good as Melbourne and went into a game against Geelong......do we actually believe we are going to win....seriously.....we stick by the team, give them uor support, feel for them....and hurt, but know that eventually we will come good

We follow the team, hope we can win, but realise that it most likely won't happen....does that make us less of a supporter???

IMO - no

Can we win this season - if everyting goes right.....and somethings don't go right for Geel, Haw, WB, Carl and Port - the biggest threats

To be completely and utterly honest, I've only ever 'believed' we would/should win the flag thrice in my lifetime.

1997.
1998.
2005.

I totally agree. Even in the bad ol days, I would go to the footy expecting to win. When we are down, I expect to get up. When we loose I don't write off the season and this year I have decided not to get down on players who makes mistakes. I just love the club, always have, always will.

Oh, and I would never ever consider throwing away my membership. There is no way that is a true supporter!!!!

Not that I am a sceptic, I believe we can finish 3 or 4, but I think the doubters will begin to "believe" when we are 4-0 and/or have PUMPED a team by 70+ (no that essendon VFL team we belted in R22 doesn't count!)

Late in season 2007 I heard a Geelong fan on radio reply to a question based on the topic of the many finals disappointments Geelong supporters had endured in the modern era and he said " I'm not letting those kind of thoughts spoil the wonderful enjoyment I'm getting week by week at present he of course went on to enjoy a completely sensational season,
and as a long suffering Sainter I recon that's the way to go for me too!
Smell the roses and enjoy the journey along the way...and do what I,ve always done ....live in hope!

I understand frustration and disappointment but isn't it about (here comes the cliche) the journey and not the result. It's the magic moments watching your team do incredible things not reading the result in a newspaper. Belief is why you keep watching, if you didn't believe you'd go do something else.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

1997.
1998.
2005.
1997 was the only year for me - we were the best side going around progressing into the finals - the win at the SCG had me truly believing - but we stumbled thanks to a brilliant underdog Adelaide & Jarman.

1998 we had well and truly lost it by finals time.
2004 we had the potential midway with the 10 straight but lost it.
2005 we pulled one out of bag against Adelaide but again were far from best side going around.

Would like to think that this year we can be the "Geelong of '07" for the first time in my lifetime (even '97 we were good but not all-conquering) - but its way too early to tell - seems like the boys are fit, are executing a very good Ross Lyon gameplan - but as usual pshycology (& Injuries) will be our worst enemy as the season progresses.

No Kosi next week would tell the (short term) story how good we are without our barometer.

It is impossible not to admire St Kilda's all-conquering surge through the first 12 rounds of the AFL season.

They are the story of the year thus far.

Even noted sceptics - of which there have been a couple on Grandstand's Friday night broadcast team - have been won over by the change in attitude and method the Saints have enacted in 2009.

Gerard Whateley, Tim Lane, David Parkin and Peter Schwab analyse the factors that underpin the current success of Ross Lyon's troops and how they have become believers.

Sports Today TV: Saints the best?
3AW's Gerard Healy, Dwayne Russell and David King debate whether there is more than two teams that can win the flag given Brisbane and the Bulldogs' convincing wins on the weekend. King also explains why he think St Kilda will beat Geelong in Round 14.

That's all well and good but the real test will be against Richmond in a fortnight.

I reckon we are in with a chance at 13 straight provided we are at the absolute top of our game.

Richmond are a very good side, with an excellent coach.

They are under-rated, and have an excellent mix of youth and experience.

shyte, I think the Swine Flu has got to my head!

To answer the question really need to know what the Conditioning staff are up to . We've looked flat the last 3/4 weeks after flying the first 8.

Hope the fitness staff have been tapering off the work until after the break.
