The "I was wrong" Thread
Got to go back about forty years for this one folks. But after a particularly heavy evening "on the lotion" followed by a particularly virulent Vindaloo, I thought I would be safe passing wind.............

Nooooooo! This thread is getting out of hand now. Surely this is grounds for some moderation maybe even a warning to JB for encouraging such openness.thejiggingsaint wrote:Got to go back about forty years for this one folks. There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Alan Scott... I was wrong.
More than happy to say Ive been proved wrong on Lyons plan for 2009.
I thought we were Sydney - Mach II. Round 1 wasnt pretty, but effective. Round 2 was exciting, impressive.
Round 3 hasnt told us that we're premiership contenders, its told us that Lyon has our team well drilled, executing a game plan and winning games.
Thats enough for round 3 as far as im concerned.

Whence has come this theory of Kosi playing CHF? First sRr, and now the forward line's biggest fan.bigcarl wrote:i was wrong when i thought kosi might make a star ff. he could be a star chf though.
With the exception of a brief period at the start of yesterday's game where we moved him up the ground to get Glass out of the square (leaving Goddard at FF against opponents who couldn't deal with it), Kosi played most of the game from FF.
Again.
Positions may not be set in the way they were in the old days, but Kosi's impact from FF is the biggest "I was wrong" for me so far... he's not only producing, he providing a great option and focus for the team (including Reiwoldt) to play through 10m from the square.
I thought they had to get rid of this "bomb it long" mentality they've had for years and get themselves a good lead up FF... I was wrong.

It might depend on how you want to classify what a FF is..
To me Kosi is not suited to the classical FF role. I do not see him best used as patrolling the goalsquare and leading out...but rather player further away from goals.
I have long promoted that Kosi is best used not as a ruck...or a CHB...or even a follower (where he is ok) but as a key forward.
Indeed last year last year I remember posting that this was as a CHFF...ie between FF and CHF.
Call this FF if you will...I don't...but that may just be terminology..
The key to me is that Kosi will not be the one making repeated leads out of a FF postion. So I personally do not describe him asa FF.
If I see him doing that & kicking bags of goals...then I will join the "I was wrong" brigade.
Till then I will maintain that he is very good key forward....and that I was one of the smaller group that were advocating that he be used in this role.
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
