I got a question
What exactly was the animal enclosure at moorabbin? ive been reading 'the age' and it mentions it.

The area between the umpires race and the opposition race at Moorabbin. They used to pack them in. Not a great place for the kids.

Imagine that packed out and the umpires walking down that race!
You can see it's surrounded by wire all around, hence the name.

Our seats at Moorabbin were in Row D just to the right of the race. Plugger's Dad was in Row A in front of us.
I ahve many memories of Russell Holmesby, Finey and the others 'performing' in that Animal Enclosure.

Its funny how many people managed to "fit" in there when it comes up now.
I can honestly say that I got a fair footy education by loitering up the back of the enclosure when I was a kid...Standing on a couple of empty VB cans.
I love that ground...with every essence of my being.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....
