Bitter-Sweet
Hello Folks
The Jiggster and the beautiful Mrs Jigging (She reads this forum! ) returned from a week up in Cairns just in time to see a great game by our Saints. Sadly though, I found out from a cousin that my dearest Auntie back in Wigan passed away during the week. Coupled with the Everton win last weekend it has been a bitter-sweet weekend for the old Jiggster who will let a wee tear or ten pass over his cheek to temper the smiles from his sporting teams success. Such is life I guess.
Glad to be home in Melbourne and looking forward to seeing my pals again at the 'dome this week.
Love to you all
Dave

Bitter-sweet
Like life itself folks, we taste the bitter with the sweet and often we fail to see the benefits of both. I have experienced the joy of a brilliant win on friday night, to wake up to find the loss of a sweet and loving lady who as the last surviving sister of four girls provided me with wisdom and smiles in equal measure. Once my dear old Mammy went "to higher quarters" poor Dolly became quite frail and felt the sense of loss more sharply as the years passed. The one thing I've learned in my sixty four years is that one needs to taste the tears to appreciate the laughter, to taste the loss in order to appreciate the victory. Take nothing for granted Folks, every day is a gift. I consider myself to be a lucky guy, I have the love of a good woman, the respect of my children and the joy of my grandkids.
I also have the joy of the friendship of my pals here and on the old MW.
You are the GREATEST! (dont let anyone tell you otherwise!)
My thanks for such lovely messages!

An attitude to live by, Dave. Thanks for sharing those inspirational words. You sound like a wise man.thejiggingsaint wrote:Like life itself folks, we taste the bitter with the sweet and often we fail to see the benefits of both.
