i saw people at the membership tent yesterday buying memberships. You would think, with 6 in row the memberships would be flying.

I suppose it doesn't help bhaving the twilight matches. but it might help with keeping the saints under the radar a little.

You should have tried a brown paper bag full of cash.

We just got there last year and it looks like we'll just make it this year but it's really not good enough.

Hopefully we'll have a win on monday night and will sign up a few more before the Essendon home game the following week.

Melbourne have 30,343 members, we are only 350 behind them.

Not a bad effort Sainters!

To be brutally honest, it's piss poor if we're sitting behind Melbourne.

We need to recruit David Friend back ASAP. At least we had a solid base then! We should be looking at 35k plus this season; especially with our great start! Instead, it looks like we'll struggle to get to 31k...

What is a memebership and is it a level playing field ??

When comparing our numbers to other clubs are we all counting the same things ?

Melbourne may have sold all of those as 4 game memberships which i read somewhere here qualify as the count.

And how is it that Filth are always so highly patronised given the fact that I would have been sure that there fan-base is from the lower-socio economic class and therefore cannot afford the extra for a membership.

Does centrelink part contribute ? Does buying Winny Blues by the carton give you a discount coupon to be a Filth member ?

A point to note ,,, wherre's Eddie from originally ?? A Broady boy.

Ladies and gentleman ,,,

The Defence Rests.

What will be next from this club ?

It's probably been said already, but what about we roll out some effective marketing? I have heard many clubs advertising membership on SEN (especially when the particular team is playing) and seen a lot of ads on TV. Perhaps it's not in our budget, but it should be IMO.

I heard an ad on Gold 104 this morning, done by BJ. Glad to hear it, because it's the first one I've heard this year.

MCC members can become a melbourne member for about $50 and they have had a drive on this.
It is effectively a donation as MCC members have free entry anyway.
This will help boost their numbers
I am an MCC member, and as I support the Saints I only go to the MCG once this year, unless we have finals.

I've said it before - the # of memberships is not the most important figure.

It is the total membership $ figure that is the most relevant.

How much money did the Club(s) receive from memberships?

What ever happened to the 'signed sealed sainter' or what it 'dont just love it, live it' TV campaign from around 2004?

I actually liked it. The bumper stickers were better then too, so were the away jumpers.

The branding and marketing seems to be down lately.

I believe there are still quite a few members that have not resigned from last year. A couple who have sat next to us on level 2 for the last 5 years or so gave up their reserved seats and didn't renew their memberships (members for 10+ years) because they were quite upset about the extra cost of the social club membership. Boy are they regretting that decision now!!!! Tried to get there seats back but lost them..........

We now have 30,273 Members according to the front desk at Linen House Oval.
This means we are up on last year, 30,122 and could better 2007 at 30,950. The record is 32,327 in 2006 - can't see that number being reached although with a month or more to go, you never know.
Come on guys, let's exceed expectations.

Doesn't the record include, 1000's of memberships bought but sponsors at the time, which the club no longer counts.

i think we could beat 2006 with the way we are playing. a pity that membership has to do with the way we play.

silly band wagoners!
