Sensible..bring similar things to the team...just keep Raph our goal side of the wing and I will be happier...good luck Raph..run baby run
Never take a backward step even to gain momentum.....

He doesn't get back in the team if the above occurs and we play well. Mini, or Geary would have to be ordinary and I like the way they have been playing so have to keep rewarding the performing incumbant3rd generation saint wrote:Good to see Raph back, if he turns in a blinder, who does Gram replace to get back in?

gram has been below average all season and hopefully his injury break/non-selection will help him either get over what is troubling him (if anything) or it will display that he hasnt been travelling
he might like running with the footy and bouncing but his kicking is generally awful

geez..some decent sized avatars here...
IF Raph plays well AND APPLIES A TACKLE THAT STICKS then Gram may find it hard to walk back in....IMHO Gram - from a defensive aspect - is the weakest link in our side. No doubt hes a run and bounce guy and thats great - but his kicking aint been great this year and one on one his defensive efforts for mine are below par.

.... or our most damaging risk-taker and play-maker.Teflon wrote:IMHO Gram - from a defensive aspect - is the weakest link in our side.
i know what you are saying, but they can't all be specialist lockdown artists and nor would you want them to be.
it takes all types ... negating and attacking ... and gram's been very important to us this season as the player who statistically has taken us inside 50 more than any other.
it's a question of balance between defence and attack and so far this season we've had it pretty much right.

[quote="Quixote"]Jason Gram has the most Inside 50's of ANY PLAYER IN THE COMPETITION THIS YEAR.
Can some of you Please get a grip (on something other than your...)??
He comes STRAIGHT back in. With his speed, attacking nature and the fact he is our official link man - Top 10 player.[/quote
agreed

it is just a stat...we could be much mroe effective if he cleaned up his kicking or better yet another player played in his position/role that could deliver...then they would be leading the comp forinside 50'sQuixote wrote:Jason Gram has the most Inside 50's of ANY PLAYER IN THE COMPETITION THIS YEAR.

if you base someone's performance on meaningless stats its like saying daniel cross is a good player because he leads the handballs

his kicking is not the best at times but imo the good far outweighs the evil in his game. i agree with quixote ... in the first 10 picked and i'd be surprised if the club sees it differently.Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:it is just a stat...we could be much mroe effective if he cleaned up his kicking or better yet another player played in his position/role that could deliver...then they would be leading the comp forinside 50'sQuixote wrote:Jason Gram has the most Inside 50's of ANY PLAYER IN THE COMPETITION THIS YEAR.

Raph, Geary or Mini depending on what kind of balance the coaches want. Raph's extra height i think is what got him a spot for tomorrow over Eddy...his extra height will come in handy against Brown & Bradshaw.3rd generation saint wrote:Good to see Raph back, if he turns in a blinder, who does Gram replace to get back in?

none of the above are, though geary could be one day.Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:no chance in hell he is in the first ten, if he is in your first ten then geary, gwilt and mini are
anyway, before slagging gram off let's see how we go tomorrow without his dash and daring.
raph is a good like-for-like replacement and we have others who can play that role, but none are as fast and damaging as grammy.

and we will be fine and won't miss gram as our running backs are great kicks apart from him, so our a few of our mids (the right ones)bigcarl wrote:none of the above are, though geary could be one day.Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:no chance in hell he is in the first ten, if he is in your first ten then geary, gwilt and mini are

i'm not slagging off gram, just pointing our a glaring problem in his game that isn't getting the attention it would as we have been winning
harley will have a field day cutting off gram's long helicopters when we play geelong
but thats ok, as long as he leads the league in inside 50's...mostly leading to a thrown in at best
