Best 150 plus game team

Post: # 743966Post older saint »

With Lenny's 200th I thought what about a bets ever team plus 200, but not enough so took it back to 150.
Pretty handy team I think most would admit:

B: Frawley, Howell, Burke
HB: Barker, Roberts, D Grant
C: Cunningham, Hayes, A Jones
HF: Reiwoldt, Loewe, Winmar
F: Milne, Lockett, Mohr
Fol:Dietrich, Harvey, Smith

Int: K Neale, Everitt, B Murray, Breen

Emerg: Hudghton, Trott, A Thompson,

good side. i'd bench joffa for trott and perhaps grant for hudghton.

cowboy and bob murray would have strong claims to a starting 18 position, too, even before howell and roberts.

and breen also was a very good player.

spoilt for choices. it reminds me of 2009.

i'd like to hear stinger's perspective on this as he would have seen them all play.

nice to see milney in such elite company.

trott > joffa
maxie > grant but elphingstone > hudghton off half back

cant see cowboy replacing howell or lockett

and as good as Breen was, Loewe was better

No Greg Burns? No Glenn Elliott? Rob Elphingstone was a beauty too. Did they play 150 games?

For balance Breen and Bob Murray would lose their spots to Burns and Eliott in my opinion, especially as Cowboy Neale could play defensive or attacking tall.

Breen and Bob Murray would join Thompson as emergencies.

Fol: Ditterich, Harvey, Smith

Int: K Neale, Everitt, G. Elliott, G. Burns

Emerg: B. Murray, Breen, A Thompson

This assumes Burns and Elliot and Elphingstone played 150 games ... which I assume they did.

Burns and Eel yes, Elliott no

Burns close but as hard as he was turned the ball over a lot. Eel v Grant tough, but Grant a HBF where Eel CHB and hard to displacea brownlow medalist, captain and multiple state player.

Eel was a real dasher. Leg injuries slowed him down some in later seasons, but Chips reminds me of him alot in his approach and mobility.
