Winmar's Son?????

Post: # 749385Post thirty-seven!? »

Was reading the wrap on the AFL website on the WA vs SA match today and came across a very interesting sentence... anyone with any more knowledge on the subject able to fill us in??

There were a number of famous football blood-lines involved, with SA's Wanganeen and WA's Kane Lucas, Nicholas Winmar, Anthony Collica, Clinton Garlett the other familiar names.

It is Nicky's son? And if so, i assume we could get him father/son? And if so, do we know if he's good enough???

I don't think Winmar's son plays football.

Found this bit of info on afldraftinfo.com:

Nicholas Winmar – played mainly off a wing – seemed like he spent a lot of time on the bench. Did a few very impressive things - breaking from stoppage at pace and piercing through the corridor in Q2 and hitting up the CHF target and kicking a long running goal from the wing to 50 out in Q4. Certainly one to watch – will probably play more in bursts - but if he can put it altogether during the championships, he could be one of the most eye-catching players.

Stats: 9K 4H 3M 2T 4I50 1.0

Definately sounds like he has the goods, but i was in the same boat as SaintsRising - i didnt think Cuz's son played footy...

Also, another recognisable name was running around:

Jamie Cripps (dont know of any relation):

Jamie Cripps – played off half back and through the midfield. Showed very good vision, creativity and handball skills in traffic, clean hands, sound skills by foot and fluency in movement. Not eligible this year (expcept for GC17) – unsure if he’ll be given a significant role in the championships (he looks capable of it though), but I expect him to impress and perform well nevertheless.

Stats: 13K 7H 5M 2T 4I50 1FF 1.2

I'm sorry, you've gone through all the trouble to find out what this actually says and it really is quite insignificant.

Don't think Jason Cripps would be old enough to have a son that age. He is around Max's age.

Noticed that young Nick Winmar was in the best on the weekend for WA...love to see some footage....plenty of romance in having another Nicky Winmar down at the Saints!

Also seems there is a son of Gilbert McAdam running around:

Charlie McAdam – The son of Gilbert, he is a left-footer, who is only lightly-built, but he is very smart. He reads the angles well, makes good decisions and hits targets – there is a lot of Gilbert in him. His ability to step around an opponent is also evident. He won 27 disposals off half-back.
Draft eligibility: 2009 NAB AFL Draft

Shame he only played the 53 games!
