There's a highlights clip through this link.

It's got Milne's goal and another towards the end.

Carrying an injury and had an off day.

But always gets himself in a position to make the most of no more than a 1% opportunity.

You might have to carry him for 95% of a game, but the remaining 5% makes it worthwhile.

Milne has always been one of our most damaging players!! I can never understand some of the bashing he gets from our supporter base. Yes, he can be frustrating at times, but he’s a match winner! AND he’s just proven this AGAIN! Regularly he rates highly in our goal kicking tally and in 09 is running a smooth second only behind Roo! Not bad considering exactly who we have in the side who can kick these goals!

Over the past few years he has developed in to a genuine team player and has removed himself from doing some of his old selfish acts. But the beauty about Milne is that he hasn’t been stifled by the coaching staff to the degree where they have completely removed the artistic license from Milne’s play. When you have freakish natural ability, which Milne clearly has, why would you ever want to obstruct that?

You got to love the 44!

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

Was it his 350th? Great way to bring it up if so.

How's the Superfooty title to their article, "Luck wears 44 for St Kilda in win over Brisbane Lions"!?! I know he made the difference score-wise, but you make you're own 'luck'. Superb tapwork from Gardi (? if I remember rightly) and some (typically) brilliant crumb work set that goal up...it's not as if he kicked it 40m in the air and hoped for a luck bounce (like Austin did for the Lions).

Credit has to go to Ross Lyon for keeping him on the ground and having that bit of faith. It's nice to have a coach who recognises it only takes 1 opportunity for Milney to come alive. It's crazy how many times Milney's kicked 2 in a minute, it's like he just gets that adrenalin rush and off he goes.
Great goals at crucial stages despite a complete lack of influence prior. It must really make it tough for his defenders who have to keep constant watch all game.
A player who requires this much attention should be kept on as long as possible, it keeps the opposition edgy as well as releasing our own players to less effective defenders.
It really astounds me that there are so many Milney bashers when the bloke has won us so many games.
Keep it up Milney, a fine start to the season along with the rest of the team.

And how do we know they are all carrying injuries ? And just how bad are they?

Thats a worry if true.

milney stayed down a long time after tackling someone inside attacking 50, during the second quarter. he was helped off by a couple of trainers, limping. came back on later in the quarter with his knee strapped. was quiet from then on until the last quarter.

judging from the strapping, it looked like he might have dislocated the kneecap. this can be pretty painful at the time - i did it a couple of years ago and it blew up like nothing else and left me on crutches for two or three weeks. but afl players ice it and stuff, anti-inflammatories, and don't even miss a week, apparently.

so let's hope it's no more serious than that.

Has anyone else noticed the lack of coverage of Milnes freaky goals by the media?
he pulls a ripper out every second game but hardly gets mentioned in the highlights.

it's expected of him like you'd expect a bag of goals from lockett or a swag of possessions from harvey. their best has to be better to be noticed.

I'd love to think that was the case. I guess he isn't everybody's sweetheart ... but he is definitely ours.
