Post: # 752750Post saintsRrising »

Another victim in Wells...maintaining record of 11 zip....

Even when Bakes was at his best I don't thing he had such a superb strike rate.

No I would think Judd is to big for him. Ideal type for Murphy. I think the Saints will try to shut down Murphy and Gibbs and leave Judd to try and win it on his own which even he will not be able to do.

Making Judd accountable for one of ours last year seemed to work quite well - while Judd was excellent we got a fair bit of the ball from whoever we had Judd on (and for the life of me I can't remember who it was)

Gram beat Judd last year IIRC.

Agree, tag Murphy, have Gibbs tag one of our runners have BJ play wide off of Stevens and have Hayes go head to head with Judd...

Lets not get too ahead of ourselves here. Wells went laim in the second half with a groin injury. Up until then I would have given it 60-40 infavour of Wells.

To his credit(CJ) he used the injury to his advantage with some good work down back and a good finish for a goal in the third. Let me add, he hit it sweetly off the left.

Getting better & better along with Geary who I think will be something special. His attack on the ball is unquestionable, and he has a good footy brain. Add a bit or pork to the bones and he will be a consistant 25+ possession player.

Other than the nice goal he kicked I though CJ had a stinker. Wells was beating him before injury and Jones struggled under pressure

Err..we are talking about CJ having been great 11 weeks in a row...

Well was not a major facor before going lame and CJ was still contributing offensively on our side of things..

Well you are consistent.,,,,though I disagree.

Stats wise Wells was down. Pick a measure.

ie Supercoach..Wells when playing well earns over 80..

This game got 42....so even ignoring the last quarter he is below...

CJ yes has played better games...but he played well againts the Roos and Wells and did his job.

Game was not by any measure a stinker...

Agree completely. Judd will get strangled out of it of we play our stoppages the way we normally do.

Will be very interested if all these 'injured' kangaroo players are left out of their team next week. Particularly Simpson and Wells who Laidley appears to be inferring shouldn't have been on the ground. If Simpson had a bona fide calf injury and Wells a strained groin, you'd think they wouldn't come up for next week.

Laidley appears to be indirectly saying through the media that the roos had our measure, and if it weren't for injury they could have won. :o

And if Hamill and Kosi were available in the prelim final in 05 and Max wasn't underdone we would have 2 flags instead of one. Problem is, no one cares about injuries, ppl only care about the result.

You know what, I couldn't give a sh-t what Dean Laidley thinks.

Bakes used to tag Judd quite effectively 3 years back, and I would have thought he was smaller than CJ?

Agree 100%

Ive NEVER rated Wells as an elite player, jogs instead of chases, tries miracle goals and marks rather than 1%ers and has a sook when it doesnt go his way.

IMHO he is in the Kerr boat but not nearly as damaging a player. All sizzle and no (well very little) steak

I thought Wells was on top of Jones early and was getting a lot of space and seperation from his tagger. Jones tightened up in the second and third although it must be said we won more clearances as well. In the last he was ineffective due to his soreness. I would say 50 50, which is fine with me. Good job from Jones again.

Maybe this year?
