Stupid Cup Names
On the train home tonight from the Richmond game we were discussing stupid cup names given we played for the "Ian Stewart Medal" today and how the AFL pretty much OKs any crap reason for medals to be given out. It all started with the ANZAC Day Medal (James Hird's biggest achievement) and goes all the way to Sydney and Collingwood playing for the "Lockett Coventry Whatever" which is bollocks considering that Lockett kicked most of his goals for the mighty sainters.
Anyway, this is a thread to come up with your most stupid ideas for trophies or medals that teams can play for in the regular season.
I'll get the ball rolling.
St Kilda vs Richmond for the Aaron Fiora Trophy
St Kilda vs North Melbourne for the Matthew Capuano Medal.
Have fun

"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."
