Ling & Dal Santo

Post: # 766362Post crowjelly »

C Ling spoke at our club luncheon last Saturday. I asked him who he would be matching up on against the Saints.

He said that his preference and belief was that it would be Dal Santo.

He also said not to pass it onto Ross.

So it's just between all of us then.

He sounded genuine and will be interested to see who he goes to.

I'm loving this - underdogs at 3 to 1, grand final experience in our favor and Pies over confident. Go Saints - I'm loading up!

Would not surprise seeing it has been a very frequent matchup the last few meetings.Would love to see someone iron out the hairy ranga very early just to assist Dal...within the rules of course

Dal has been well and truly raped by Lingy for at least the last 2 or 3 times we've played and tbh good as Dal's been I can't really foresee any change to that unfortunately.

on the plus side it will free up montagna nicely.

Dal is a much more mature player this season he'll work hard but if it suits the team he'll take Ling away from the contest and when he's needed I think there will be better cover for him (blocks).

It'll be interesting to see how they handle Gardy, his work will be crucial.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Could we afford to play Dal deep forward for reasonable chunks of the game? That might throw them out of kilter !!

I wouldn't back that out of the equation, especially if the Pig gets on top early. Drag him as far deep as possible, then let him worry about the combined frontal pressure as he tries to get it out

dal did that against the tigers a little and it's the best way to beat the ling tag. Just don't send him to half back cause ling will kick three!
