Where were the Buskers?

Post: # 783430Post thejiggingsaint »

 I was surprized and saddened on Saturday not to hear the familiar sounds of the boys on the footbridge this week. Its quite amazing that stadium management/city council wowsers use the old OH&S excuse to ban them and are seemingly powerless to stop flares going off in the ground!

Couple of Buskers near the LaTrobe Street bridge playing 'Oh when the saints.' Not sure if they're the same ones from the Bourke Street bridge.

I really cant see why those two buskers cant do the same as the girl with the bagpipes.

Stand up on those stupid seats and play

Speaking of the seats...i saw a guy slam shin-first into one walking to the ground Sat night. Made my poor lil innocent ears blush with the words he used too lol

Was not crowded at all..he was totally not watching where he was going

That has happened a few times...

Talk about health and safety ....those seats are more dangerous than a couple of buskers standing and playing IMO...

But those two should do the same as the bagpipe girl and stand up on those stupid seats and play

I still missed them.
All Buskers do it for the money.
Why would you do it otherwise?
Meanwhile we'll put up with Classical Gas and the bagpipes.

I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

It does amuse me that one of the kids on the Latrobe st side seems to always be in shorts, no matter how cold it is or how blue his legs get... presumably for the sympathy coin, which I'd personally rather give to the Salvos.

The Footy Buskers have their own CD for sale and play the song of whoever's the home team is. Who cares if they're there or not?

That's not entirely true.
They claim to be StK supporters and always play our song before our matches and after our matches, though if remembers far enough back, they play a funerial version when we lose.

But you are right they do "moonlight" at other non StK games and play non StK theme songs.
But ultimately they are buskers and that is what buskers do to earn a living.

Their CD isn't too bad.
And it includes songs about a number of clubs.

I'm not really superstitious,
but for the finals I would love to know where they are busking so I can walk past them on the way in.
Will make it seem more like a home game and set the right vibe.

I have seen them at other finals at the end of that western footbridge from the ferris wheel (the one that works) that plays all that weirdo music.

Oh , it wasn't just my stupidity then ,, christ , i near broke my leg on those stupid bloody things after the Rd 6 Dogs game ,,, Hell of a gash in my shin.

Now that is a hazard and an unbeilvably stupid one to have there.
Biuskers should play ,, refuse to pay the fine ,, go to court and show the benches/seats ,, bloody stupid

The bagpiper girl has stuck it out against:

a) the dome goons
b) the council storm troopers
c) the abuse from doggy supporters
d) freezing cold
e) she wears a number 5!!

Really do miss the boys and their brass, but I prefer the bagpipe girl's class.

Phew! Thought the rhyming slang was heading in another direction there.
