Bozza,

You are quite correct - however no 'play' on when the saints go marching in - just simply "Oh When the Saints Go Marching In, Oh When the Saints Go Marching In" - with "Congratulations Robert Harvey" added up the top for Bangers first Brownlow. And the White background was unusual as well.

The Picture I have is a beaut with the saints running through it and balloons being let off.

Yes it was a sad day - but it was still a day to remember.

Over to you....

sorry milnedog

the question -> How many members in the 1 VFL/AFL game club ?

just an aside because I didn't write this question when I first got home as I should have- so I have forgotten the surname but will keep looking -
He played only one game for St kilda senior side in I am sure it was 1975.

and who can tell me the surname of the saints player Ian........ who provided such an entertaining 15 minutes on the Run Home.

1 game in total-- at full forward with cowboy at half forward.

and now you can tell st fid junior why I never enter trivia- I cant even get the questions straight let alone the answers

I have found His name thanks to 'Saint in the west' and his excellant player archives-- Bill Cannon - Knew it was a common name  --
which even has gwilt and mcqualter and fiora in it already well done Bruce.

question still remains - How many players in vfl/afl history have only played 1 game of afl/vfl football?

Well thats a very hard question if you didn't listen to SEN

I know that there are 211 St Kilda players

and the only Ians that have played just one game that I know of are....

Ian Gordan debut 1957 and

Ian Evans debut 1904

both never kicked a gaol

Just to clear things up:

The answer to "who was the guy I heard on the radio who's name is Ian?" is Bill Cannon.

Is that correct?

'A saint in the west' site player archives is a font of info
http://members.iinet.net.au/~skewes/saints/index.html

ps sorry its taken a while St fid - Just set most of my info back into a new laptop- hey I have a' and e' keys now- they had worn of the old one' not that anyone could tell. :?

Don't know who got that right so I'll jump in.

Bill Cannon's dad had a column in one of the Sunday newspapers that predated Palmer's Punchlines. What was it called?
