Minson Cooney miss training

Interesting these 2 didn't train today...perhaps nothing in it, although Minson has been under a small injury cloud all week.

First thing Gards or Zac (depending where Minson lines up) should do is step on his toe!

Cooney will play. Absolute certainty.

Broken toe or something, though I hope that they bring in players not 100%, they may bring in the Everitt guy?

this could simply be playing games. they would have to know that we don't have a great matchup for zac if minson doesn't play.

who knows!?

just bring on friday damn it... this is killing me.

Cooney is the type who will still fly regardless of a missed session (unless he has a legit injury), but Minson is an inconsistent player at best, and if he plays having had no training all week, plus under an injury cloud, he could be in line for a shocker!! Fingers crossed they play him!

Everitt is good, but still young so his finals experience is not great - he played one really good game this year as an undersized ruckman, although it was against a young Cameron Wood. He is a talent, but his smaller body is more likely to be found out in the finals. He is also capable of playing defence or up forward, so that may be one reason for them to bring him in - a good swing man is always helpful.

Minson and Hahn both didn't do much work last tuesday. Minson actually didn't even come out I think and Hahn kicked the ball to himself and looked on.

Murphy was looking "extremely proppy" at that session as well.

They trained at the MCG today didn't they?

Very fortunate to train in this weather seeing as tomorrow night will be similar conditions.

Sorry, what was that?

Conditions tomorrow will be perfect?

Oh, that's a shame.

I pray Minson plays. Under the pressure of a Home and Away game he's a disciplinary liability, so in the 'cook' of a prelim there's every chance he'll melt. Hope Kingy and Gardiner work him over.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Hahn, Minson, Griffen under a bit of an injury cloud.

Add to that Higgins, Murphy, Cross and Giansiracusa who have missed a lot of football over the last couple of months or so.

I hope they're ready for the rough stuff.

I hope Minson DOESN'T play - him missing screws up their whole midfield/fwd structure, and forces them to pinch hit with Everitt (young) or Skipper (a hack who hasn't played AFL footy in ages)

Yeah apparently he's been getting injections in his knee pre-grame the last couple of weeks to get him up. So he'll do the same this week.

Expect Minson to play with pain killers, has broken toe suffered last week.
End of qtrs will suffer as pain killers wear off.

Cooney missing interesting as must be either under weather or carrying something. Expect to play.

Any injury doubts for them i hope they do play.

Dogs sound a bit proppy despite the media spin that they are fit.

I dont think its games they are playing .
Shouldnt be underrated as they have the desire but can the bodies stand up ????????

Could be a fade out as our extra fitness kicks in .

Their hope would be a good start , get their tails up with running but somehow I cannot see them lasting particularly if we bring our best game .

If he doesn't play, they're one ruckman/tall down...would be very good news for us if he didn't play. Frankly, he's too important to them, he play IMO.

He trained with the main group (according to my friend who works at the MCG and had a clear view of the session). I haven't heard any radio today, so I don't understand where the reports are coming from.

The reports are coming from the linked report in the OP.

Yeah, I saw the story and don't understand how it can be on the AFL website (although someone else mentioned it was on radio). At this stage it's my friend's word versus afl.com.au  but I tend to believe him. Has anyone seen it on The Age, Herald Sun, etc?

I think it's much ado about nothing though. Whether he trained or not, he will play.

There's little doubt Cooney will play.

Hopefully when he plays he will also be restricted to light duties ..

Well, they don't elaborate much in the afl.com.au report above, so possible they just weren't looking.

Agree, there's no chance Cooney won't be in their starting 22.

States he was at training, Red's mate is right!

Gawd they're carrying on about Williams...he made no difference to their team the last couple times, the way they're carping on you'd think Ted Whitten had come back from the dead and thrown his boots on! I guess this is a selection diversion to keep us on our toes, not that it would make much difference to our forward structure.

they are playing their equivalent of the 'Rocca" wildcard with Tom Williams.

I can't remember him last time we played them ,hopefully that's a good sign.

For those interested in the match stats last time we played the Dogs -
