Excellent! I've been dying to meet him again for over a decade. Tell him to come out for a beer so I don't have to fly to WA! Do you know him from when he played in Warburton?

Fantastic video, hope Nicky gets his wish. He was sublime out on the ground, and Winmar to Lockett was magic.

thanks, ctqs and also curly for the update.

it was very emotional watching that footage.

a really nice gesture from neil mitchell to help nicky make the trip over and get behind the club to win a flag.

he's dead right! a loss could really do a bit of damage to the players' psyches. considering this will be only our 6th ever grand final appearance, it almost seems like now or never.

3AW can go F themselves. Playing the audio of the Crows winning the Grand Final in 1997? Nicky handled it pretty well. I would have gone ape s***.

The only thing I want is a Premiership. Is that too much to ask?

I couldn't agree more. It was a deliberate ploy to elicit emotion from Nicky and sensationalise the tragedy of his grand final experience.

Neil Mitchell is an ar*ehole.

The thing that rang most true from the entire interview was Nicky's belief in and dedication to the club. He left nothing in the tank when he finished playing for us. A true legend of the club.

I believe.

That was a really emotional video. I wasn't even in Austrlalia in 1997 and had never heard of St Kilda, but Nicky Winmar stirikes me as an incredibly dignified, yet sad person. They should show that to the boys pre-match, if they needed any more firing up!

I agree that MItchell was totally cruel to play that audio to open the interview. Low dog act. Well done Nicky for putting a brave face on.

It was puzzling - why did Mitchell play so much of it, if he had to do it at all? 10 seconds would have been more than enough.
